The ergogenic benefits of creatine supplementation for male athletes and physical exercise people

Resumo: | Creatine is an amino acid derivative that is popularly consumed by athletes and physical activity practitioners, especially those who practice high intensity and short duration modalities. The aim of this study was to review the importance of creatine supplementation and its benefits for male athletes and exercisers. This is an integrative literature review, using the following databases: Scientific Electronic Library Online (SCIELO), National Library of Medicine (Pubmed), Virtual Health Library (BVS), Google Scholar (Google Scholar), in the languages Portuguese and English, with articles published in the last ten years. Comparative analysis of studies demonstrated that creatine supplementation increases intramuscular creatine concentrations, improving high-intensity exercise performance and also plays an important role in preventing and reducing the severity of injuries, helping athletes and physical exercise practitioners to tolerate intense training. It was concluded that in individuals who practice regular physical exercises and athletes, creatine is a substance that helps to increase muscle mass. Creatine supplementation at the proper dosage has been shown to be effective in significantly increasing endurance, energy, hypertrophy and physical activity performance to achieve the desired effect. |

El objetivo de este estudio fue revisar la importancia de la suplementación con creatina y sus beneficios para los atletas y deportistas masculinos. Se trata de una revisión integrativa de la literatura, utilizando las siguientes bases de datos: Scientific Electronic Library Online (SCIELO), National Library of Medicine (Pubmed), Virtual Health Library (BVS), Google Scholar (Google Scholar), en los idiomas portugués e inglés, con artículos publicados en los últimos diez años. El análisis comparativo de los estudios demostró que la suplementación con creatina aumenta las concentraciones de creatina intramuscular, mejorando el rendimiento del ejercicio de alta intensidad y también juega un papel importante en la prevención y reducción de la gravedad de las lesiones, ayudando a los atletas y practicantes de ejercicio físico a tolerar el entrenamiento intenso. Se concluyó que en individuos que practican ejercicio físico regular y deportistas, la creatina es una sustancia que ayuda a aumentar la masa muscular. Se ha demostrado que la suplementación con creatina en la dosis adecuada es efectiva para aumentar significativamente la resistencia, la energía, la hipertrofia y el rendimiento de la actividad física para lograr el efecto deseado.A creatina é um derivado de aminoácidos que é popularmente consumido por atletas e praticantes de atividade física, especialmente aqueles que praticam modalidades de alta intensidade e curta duração. O objetivo deste estudo foi revisar a importância da suplementação de creatina e os seus benefícios para atletas e praticantes de exercícios do sexo masculino. Trata-se de uma revisão integrativa da literatura, sendo utilizados as bases de dados: Scientific Electronic Library Online (SCIELO), National Library of Medicine (Pubmed), Biblioteca Virtual de Saúde (BVS), Google Acadêmico (Google Scholar), nos idiomas português e inglês, com artigos publicados nos últimos dez anos. A análise comparativa dos estudos demonstrou que a suplementação de creatina aumenta as concentrações de creatina intramuscular, melhorando o desempenho do exercício de alta intensidade e também cumpre um papel importante na prevenção e redução da gravidade das lesões, ajudando os atletas e praticantes de exercícios físicos a tolerar o treinamento intenso. Concluiu-se que em indivíduos que praticam exercícios físicos regulares e atletas, a creatina é uma substância que auxilia no aumento da massa muscular.
