Kidney complications resulting from SARS-CoV-2 virus infection

Resumo: It is known that Covid-19, a pathology discovered at the end of 2019, in the city of Wuhan, China, has spread in several countries, being characterized as a pandemic, has been causing several complications, the main one being the discomfort syndrome. acute respiratory disease (ARDS), but it can cause damage to other organs. Thus, the current study aims to evaluate the kidney injuries caused by Covid-19 and what are the main renal manifestations presented. A narrative literature review was carried out, anchored in the Google Scholar, ScientifEletronic Library Online (SciELO) and PubMED databases, using the descriptors: “covid-19”, “nephropathies”, “acute kidney injury”, “kidney damage”, “renal complications”, published in English and Portuguese during the year 2020 to 2022. 550 scientific productions were collected, 50 productions were selected, 30 of which matched the inclusion criteria after checking the abstracts, but only 20 were used after full reading of the contents. The analyzes suggest that the main kidney injuries caused are electrolyte disturbances, proteinuria, hematuria, metabolic acidosis, which lead to increased creatinine and decreased glomerular filtration rate, this is due to systemic inflammation and hypercytokinemia cascade (IL-6, IL-2, TNF-alpha, and IL-10) that result in systemic endothelial dysfunction and a hypercoagulable state that cause tubular injury in patients with acute renal syndrome.

Así, el presente estudio tiene como objetivo evaluar las lesiones renales provocadas por el Covid-19 y cuáles son las principales manifestaciones renales que presenta. Se realizó una revisión narrativa de la literatura, anclada en las bases de datos Google Scholar, ScientifEletronic Library Online (SciELO) y PubMED, utilizando los descriptores: “covid-19”, “nefropatías”, “lesión renal aguda”, “daño renal”, “renal complicaciones”, publicado en inglés y portugués durante el año 2020 a 2022. Se recopilaron 550 producciones científicas, se seleccionaron 50 producciones, 30 de las cuales cumplieron con los criterios de inclusión después de la verificación de los resúmenes, pero solo 20 fueron utilizadas después de la lectura completa de los contenidos . Los análisis sugieren que las principales lesiones renales provocadas son alteraciones electrolíticas, proteinuria, hematuria, acidosis metabólica, que conducen a aumento de creatinina y disminución de la tasa de filtración glomerular, esto se debe a la cascada de inflamación sistémica e hipercitocinemia (IL-6, IL-2, TNF -alfa e IL-10) que resultan en disfunción endotelial sistémica y un estado de hipercoagulabilidad que causa daño tubular en pacientes con síndrome renal agudo.Sabe-se que a Covid-19, uma patologia descoberta no final de 2019, na cidade de Wuhan, na China, se disseminou em vários países, sendo caracterizada como uma pandemia, vem causando diversas complicações, sendo a principal delas a síndrome do desconforto respiratório agudo (SDRA), porém pode causar lesões em outros órgãos. Assim, o atual estudo tem como objetivo avaliar as lesões renais causadas pela Covid-19 e quais são as principais manifestações renais apresentadas. Foi realizada uma revisão narrativa de literatura, ancorada nas bases de dados Google Scholar, ScientifEletronic Library Online (SciELO) e PubMED, utilizando os descritores: “covid-19”, “nefropatias”, “injuria renal aguda”, “lesão renal”, “complicações renais”, publicados em inglês e português durante o ano de 2020 até 2022. Foram colecionadas 550 produções cientificas, selecionadas 50 produções das quais 30 correspondiam aos critérios de inclusão, apenas 20 foram utilizadas após a leitura completa dos conteúdos.
