Talking Map as a data production instrument in qualitative research

Resumo: This work aims to describe the development of the Talking Map in participatory research with undergraduate nursing students on the concept of health promotion. This is an experience report on the use of the Talking Map as a data production technique in Participatory Health Research, an innovative approach in the preparation of monographs, dissertations and theses. The research field was the Aurora de Afonso Costa Nursing School and the data were produced from August to December 2019. Participants were asked to respond in a playful way, on cardboard, "what is it about the Nursing School that favors the Health Promotion of undergraduate students?”. Subsequently, they answered on another cardbord “what would you like to have at the Nursing School to favor the Health Promotion of undergraduates?”. From the findings, three categories emerged: Health Promotion Actions at EEAAC/UFF; Interpersonal Relations at EEAAC/UFF and The promoting environment EEAAC/UFF.  Therefore, it is concluded that the Talking Map stimulated the participants to reflect and be creative, providing well-being during the research. Proved to be effective as an instrument, capable of extracting from Nursing students information about the concept of health promotion, favoring the achievement of objectives. Thus, it contributed to a collective construction of the findings.

Este es un informe de experiencia sobre el uso del Mapa Hablante como una técnica de producción de datos en Investigación participativa de salud, un enfoque innovador em la preparación de monografías, disertaciones y tesis. El campo de investigación fue la Escuela de Enfermería Aurora de Afonso Costa y la producción de los datos se realizó de agosto a diciembre de 2019. Se pidió a los participantes que respondieran de manera lúdica, en cartón, "¿qué hay en la Escuela de Enfermería que favorece la Promoción de la Salud de los estudiantes universitarios?". Posteriormente, respondieron en otro cartón "¿qué le gustaría tener en la Escuela de Enfermería para favorecer la Promoción de la Salud de los estudiantes universitarios?". De los hallazgos surgieron tres categorías: acciones de promoción de la salud en EEAAC/UFF; Relaciones interpersonales en EEAAC/UFF y El entorno promotor de EEAAC/UFF. Por lo tanto, se concluye que el Mapa Hablante estimuló a los participantes a reflexionar y ser creativos, proporcionando bienestar durante la investigación. Demostró ser eficaz como instrumento, capaz de extraer de los estudiantes de enfermería información sobre el concepto de promoción de la salud, favoreciendo el logro de objetivos. Por lo tanto, contribuyó a una construcción colectiva de los hallazgos.Este trabalho tem como objetivo descrever o desenvolvimento do Mapa Falante na pesquisa participativa com estudantes de graduação de enfermagem sobre a concepção de promoção da saúde. Trata-se de um relato de experiência sobre o uso do Mapa Falante como técnica de produção de dados na Pesquisa Participativa em Saúde, abordagem inovadora na elaboração de monografias, dissertações e teses. O campo de investigação foi a Escola de Enfermagem Aurora de Afonso Costa e a produção dos dados ocorreu de Agosto a Dezembro de 2019. Foi solicitado aos participantes a responderem de forma lúdica em cartolina “o que tem na Escola de Enfermagem que favorece a Promoção de Saúde dos graduandos?”. Posteriormente, responderam em nova cartolina “o que desejaria que tivesse na Escola de Enfermagem para favorecer a Promoção de Saúde dos graduandos?”. A partir dos achados emergiram três categorias: Ações de Promoção da Saúde na EEAAC/UFF; Relações Interpessoais na EEAAC/UFF e O ambiente promotor da EEAAC/UFF. Frente ao exposto, conclui-se que o Mapa Falante estimulou nos participantes a reflexão e criatividade, proporcionando bem estar durante a pesquisa. Demonstrou-se eficaz como instrumento, capaz de extrair dos graduandos de Enfermagem informações sobre a concepção de promoção da saúde, favorecendo para o alcance dos objetivos.
