The theme “Health of the Elderly” in Revista Brasileira Multidisciplinar: Analysis of a decade (2010 – 2020)

Resumo: | With the current changes in demographic profiles, multidisciplinary work has gained prominence with regard to the health of the elderly, understanding that comprehensive care can interfere with health outcomes, whether through prevention, treatment or reduction of injuries. The aim of this study was to investigate publications on elderly health in the Revista Brasileira Multidisciplinar, as well as to discuss possible issues related to comprehensive health care for the elderly. This is a retrospective, bibliographical and exploratory review study, carried out between May and June 2021, with a descriptive approach, in the database "Multidisciplinary Brazilian Journal" through the descriptors/key words "Health of the Elderly" "Elderly" and “Elderly”. Inclusion criteria were complete articles published in the journal between January 2010 and December 2020 identified in June 2021. Only articles that had any relationship with the health of the elderly were included. In total, 5 articles participated in the study. With regard to the authors' initial training, it was observed that the Nursing course was the one with the highest prevalence. Authors with training in Dentistry, Nutrition, Physical Education and Medicine were identified, showing that there is a consolidation process between the health of the elderly and the care provided in a multidisciplinary way. Literature review studies were found showing preventive strategies that enable a healthier aging process, delaying the development and worsening of diseases. It is concluded that multidisciplinary care presents itself as an alternative to guarantee comprehensive care. |

El objetivo de este estudio fue investigar las publicaciones sobre salud de las personas mayores en la Revista Brasileira Multidisciplinar, así como discutir posibles temas relacionados con la atención integral a la salud de las personas mayores. Se trata de un estudio retrospectivo, de revisión bibliográfica y exploratoria, realizado entre mayo y junio de 2021, con enfoque descriptivo, en la base de datos "Revista Multidisciplinaria Brasileña" a través de los descriptores / palabras clave "Salud del Anciano" "Anciano" y "Anciano". ”. Los criterios de inclusión fueron artículos completos publicados en la revista entre enero de 2010 y diciembre de 2020 identificados en junio de 2021. Solo se incluyeron artículos que tuvieran alguna relación con la salud de las personas mayores. En total, 5 artículos participaron en el estudio. En cuanto a la formación inicial de los autores, se observó que el curso de Enfermería fue el de mayor prevalencia. Se identificaron autores con formación en Odontología, Nutrición, Educación Física y Medicina, evidenciando que existe un proceso de consolidación entre la salud del anciano y la atención brindada de manera multidisciplinar. Se encontraron estudios de revisión de la literatura que muestran estrategias preventivas que permiten un proceso de envejecimiento más saludable, retrasando el desarrollo y agravamiento de enfermedades. Se concluye que la atención multidisciplinar se presenta como una alternativa para garantizar una atención integral.Com as atuais mudanças nos perfis demográficos, a atuação multiprofissional passou a ganhar destaque no que se refere a saúde do idoso, compreendendo que o cuidado integral pode interferir em desfechos em saúde, seja por meio da prevenção, tratamento ou diminuição de agravos. O objetivo do trabalho foi investigar as publicações sobre a saúde do idoso na Revista Brasileira Multidisciplinar, bem como discutir as possíveis questões relacionadas ao cuidado integral à saúde do idoso. Trata-se de um estudo de revisão retrospectiva, bibliográfica e exploratória, realizado entre maio e junho de 2021, com abordagem descritiva, na base de dados “Revista Brasileira Multidisciplinar” através dos descritores/palavras-chave “Saúde do Idoso” “Idosos” e “Idoso”. Os critérios de inclusão foram artigos completos publicados na revista entre o período de janeiro de 2010 a dezembro de 2020 identificados em junho de 2021. Somente foram incluídos artigos que tivessem alguma relação com a saúde do idoso. No total, 5 artigos participaram do estudo. No que diz respeito as formações iniciais dos autores, observou-se que o curso Enfermagem foi o que apresentou maior prevalência. Foram identificados autores com formação em Odontologia, Nutrição, Educação Física e Medicina mostrando que existe um processo de consolidação entre a saúde do idoso e o cuidado realizado de forma multidisciplinar. Foram encontrados estudos de revisão de literatura apresentando estratégias preventivas que possibilitam um processo de envelhecimento mais saudável adiando o desenvolvimento e agravo de doenças. Conclui-se que o cuidado multiprofissional se apresenta como alternativa para a garantia do cuidado integral.
