Experimental research collaborates in the Scientific Methodology teaching-learning process: an experience in Agronomic Engineering

Resumo: | Scientific methodology is a component present in the pedagogical project of several degree courses. However, students are generally uninterested over this subject. Curricular component has been approached in many cases in an expository and fragmented way not allowing students to understand and apply the content approached which compromises success in student learning. Thus, the aim was to present the experience with students of the bachelor’s degree in Agronomic Engineering at the Instituto Federal do Amapá - Campus Porto Grande, Amapá, Brasil, through an experimental research as a form of collaboration in the teaching-learning process. Initially, there was a theoretical approach to the contents along with the students and then the experiments were conducted. After that, the students tabulated data, performed statistical analysis and the report writing with teacher monitoring. After all the steps for conducting a scientific research – including agricultural experimentation in the field and discussion of the importance of each research step – the work resulted in the presentation of a final research report according to the standardization of the Brazilian Association of Technical Standards. Students who were involved in the pedagogical experience have been interested in the component and usage of experimental research contributes to the teaching-learning process. Experimental research in the area of student training has made the activity close to the students reality and proved effective in addressing the content of scientific methodology. |

El componente curricular ha sido abordado en muchos casos de manera expositiva y fragmentada, lo que no permitiendo al educando una comprensión y aplicación del contenido abordado, comprometiendo el suceso en el aprendizaje discente. Con eso, este estudio objetivó presentar la experiencia vivenciada junto a los estudiantes del curso de Licenciatura en Ingeniaría Agronómica del Instituto Federal do Amapá – Campus Porto Grande, por medio de una investigación experimental como manera de colaboración en el proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje. En primer lugar, hubo un abordaje teórico de los contenidos juntamente con los alumnos, posteriormente, ocurrió la conducción de los experimentos. En seguida, los discentes tabularon los datos, realizaran el análisis estadístico y la redacción del informe con acompañamiento docente. Después de todas las etapas de conducción de una investigación científica, incluyendo la experimentación agrícola en campo y con discusión de la importancia de cada etapa de la investigación, el trabajo resultó en la presentación de un informe final de la investigación, siguiendo las técnicas de la Associação Brasileira de Normas Técnicas. Los estudiantes involucrados en la experiencia pedagógica demostraron interés por la asignatura y la ejecución de la investigación experimental contribuyó en el proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje. La investigación experimental con tema en el área de formación de los estudiantes convirtió la actividad cercana a la realidad de los discentes y demostró ser un efectivo abordaje del contenido de metodología científica.A metodologia científica é um componente presente no projeto pedagógico de diversos cursos; no entanto, os discentes geralmente mostram-se desinteressados por essa disciplina. O componente curricular tem sido abordado, em muitos casos, de forma expositiva e fragmentada, não permitindo ao educando uma compreensão e aplicação do conteúdo abordado, o que compromete o sucesso na aprendizagem discente. Com isso, objetivou-se apresentar a experiência vivenciada junto aos discentes do curso de Bacharelado em Engenharia Agronômica do Instituto Federal do Amapá – Campus Porto Grande, por meio de uma pesquisa experimental, como forma de colaboração no processo ensino-aprendizagem. Primeiramente, houve uma abordagem dos conteúdos de forma teórica, juntamente com os alunos; posteriormente, ocorreu o planejamento e condução dos experimentos. Em seguida, os discentes tabularam os dados, realizaram a análise estatística e a redação do relatório com acompanhamento docente. Após todas as etapas da condução de uma pesquisa científica, incluindo a experimentação agrícola em campo e com discussão da importância de cada etapa da pesquisa, o trabalho culminou na apresentação de um relatório final da pesquisa de acordo com a normalização da Associação Brasileira de Normas Técnicas. Os discentes envolvidos na experiência pedagógica mostraram-se interessados pelo componente e a execução da pesquisa experimental contribuiu no processo ensino-aprendizagem.
