Absenteeism among health professional during COVID-19 pandemic: an integrative review

Resumo: Objective: To know through the literature the scientific production on the absenteeism of health professionals during the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods: This is an Integrative Literature Review, with a qualitative approach, carried out in the MEDLINE, LILACS, and SciELO databases Articles from January 2019 to January 2022 were selected. Results: Of the six selected articles, three thematic categories were created, namely: Impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on health services; The use of PPE and the relationship whit absenteeism by COVID-19; Health category with the highest tendency to absenteeism. The study findings indicate know serious is the absenteeism of health professionals to institutions and patients care due to their high exposure to COVID-19. Final considerations: The planning of adequate health care is the main tool for ham reduction to professionals, institutions and patients, requiring a better health management strategy.

Metodología: Se trata de una Revisión Integrativa de la Literatura, con enfoque cualitativo, realizada en las bases de datos MEDLINE, LILACS y SciELO. Se seleccionaron artículos de enero de 2019 a enero de 2022. Resultados y Discusión: De los seis artículos seleccionados, se crearon tres categorías temáticas, a saber: Impactos de la pandemia de COVID-19 en los servicios de salud; El uso de EPI y la relación con el ausentismo por COVID-19; Categoría de salud con mayor tendencia al ausentismo. Los hallazgos del estudio indican cuán grave es el ausentismo de los profesionales de la salud a las instituciones y atención de pacientes debido a su alta exposición al COVID-19. Consideraciones finales: La planificación de una adecuada atención en salud es la principal herramienta para la reducción de daños a profesionales, instituciones y pacientes, requiriendo una mejor estrategia de gestión en salud.Objetivo: Conhecer por meio da literatura a produção científica sobre o absenteísmo dos profissionais de saúde durante a pandemia de COVID-19.  Métodos: Trata-se de uma Revisão Integrativa da Literatura, com abordagem qualitativa, realizada nas bases de dados do MEDLINE, LILACS e SciELO. Foram selecionados artigos de Janeiro de 2019 a Janeiro de 2022. Resultados: Dos seis artigos selecionados, foram criadas três categorias temáticas, sendo: Impactos da pandemia de COVID-19 aos serviços de saúde; O uso de EPIs e a relação com o absenteísmo pela COVID-19; Categoria de saúde com maior tendência ao absenteísmo. Os achados do estudo sinalizam o quão grave é o absenteísmo dos profissionais da saúde para as instituições e para o cuidado do paciente devido à grande exposição destes a COVID-19.
