Technology and Technocentrism: the impacts on contemporary society

This article aims to reflect on the concept of technology in order to understand the impact of technocentrism on contemporary society, as well as its reflection on production relations. In this context, it specifically addresses the concept of technology, the relationship between technology, work and technocentrism and the impacts of technological advances in contemporary society. A bibliographic research with a qualitative approach was used, anchored in the ontological perspective of the social being and in the writings of important authors, in which Pinto, Peixoto and Schwab stand out, to support the study. It was concluded that technology advances at a gigantic speed and as it follows its course, it changes society. These changes are positive when they improve people's lives and negative when technology begins to transform production relations, becoming the center and causing unemployment.
