Resumo: | This study aimed to discuss a socio-environmental situation in the states that make up the Brazilian Amazon, based on its socioeconomic, environmental and health indicators. One study area corresponds to the states of the North of Brazil: Pará, Amazonas, Rondônia, Acre, Tocantins, Amapá and Roraima. In methodological terms, a survey presents an epidemiological, descriptive and ecological survey of diseases related to permitted environmental sanitation, based on notifications of compulsory diseases and hospital admissions. The analyzed period comprised the years 2008 to 2016. The results indicated in the North region show a low number of hospitalizations, but remain with the average above the other regions. Among them, an average of 399/100 thousand inhabitants / year with hospitalizations for oral transmission and 83/100 thousand inhabitants / year with hospitalizations for diseases transmitted by insect vectors stands out, with values always higher than the Brazilian average, which was 109.2 / 100 thousand inhab./year and 37.2 / 100 thousand inhab./year, respectively. This study demonstrates that the North region of the country does not follow the other states of Brazil, and that the likelihood of reaching the United Nations objective, which concerns universal and equal access to sanitation, is unlikely, especially in relation to the prioritization of people in situations of poverty. vulnerability in the North region fits. |

Research, Society and Development2020-09-06info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/article/view/730210.33448/rsd-v9i9.7302Research, Society and Development; Vol. 9 No. 9; e771997302Research, Society and Development; Vol. 9 Núm. 9; e771997302Research, Society and Development; v. 9 n. 9; e7719973022525-3409reponame:Research, Society and Developmentinstname:Universidade Federal de Itajubá (UNIFEI)instacron:UNIFEIporhttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/article/view/7302/6989Copyright (c) 2020 Enilde Santos de Aguiar; Mônica Moraes Ribeiro; Jéssica Herzog Viana; Altem Nascimento Ponteshttps://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessAguiar, Enilde Santos de Ribeiro, Mônica Moraes Viana, Jéssica Herzog Pontes, Altem Nascimento 2020-09-18T01:42:11Zoai:ojs.pkp.sfu.ca:article/7302Revistahttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/indexPUBhttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/oairsd.articles@gmail.com2525-34092525-3409opendoar:2024-01-17T09:30:04.089395Research, Society and Development - Universidade Federal de Itajubá (UNIFEI)false |
