Resumo: Since the beginning, women have always been the protagonists of childbirth, being helped by midwives, family women and religious. However, with the passage of time and technological advances, women became dependent on external means to carry out a process that was once natural. With this, the woman began to have fears and doubts about motherhood. When observing pregnant women in the waiting room, they present doubts and anxieties related to pregnancy and childbirth, doubts that are not always clarified due to the large number of consultations and reduced consultation time to meet the demand. At this point, it is possible to perceive the importance of educational practice to meet the need for knowledge to be offered to these pregnant women, which can be performed by all health professionals in the unit, in order to requalify the care provided to the group of pregnant women. This work aims to improve the quality of prenatal and postpartum care and to promote the health of pregnant and postpartum women. The target audience will be all pregnant women in the primary care unit, as they realize the importance of clarifying doubts about the different stages involving pregnancy, childbirth and the puerperium. As a result, we hope to promote the health of pregnant and postpartum women through guidance on the benefits of natural childbirth, healthy eating, care for the newborn, importance of breastfeeding, contraception after childbirth, increase the bond between pregnant women, family and health unit professionals and carry out pregnancy risk assessment.
