Cinema in the teaching of natural sciences: analysis of the “Sammy's Adventures” movie

Resumo: | The movies constitute a valuable didactic resource in the Teaching of Natural Sciences in order to promote Scientific Literacy. However, the literature points out the difficulties found by teachers to use this resource in their classes. In this work we analyze the "Sammy's Adventures" movies which aims to identify the potential content that can be addressed in science classes. The analysis of the film was carried out by two specialists in the field of Natural Sciences. This movie presents scenes with changes in the environment resulting from natural processes and phenomena and also by human intervention. Through the analysis of the film, it was possible to identify that several scenes converge with the knowledge objectives to be developed in the thematic units Matter and Energy and Life and Evolution of the Base Nacional Comum Curricular. This result highlights the potential of "Sammy's Adventures" movies to be used in the teaching of Nature Science classes with students in the early years of elementary school, as well as to explore themes and emerging environmental problems. |

Sin embargo, la literatura señala las dificultades encontradas por los maestros para usar este recurso en sus clases. En este trabajo analizamos la película "Las aventuras de Sammy" para identificar los contenidos potenciales que pueden abordarse en las clases de ciencias. El análisis de la película fue realizado por dos especialistas en el campo de las Ciencias Naturales. Esta película presenta escenas con cambios en el medio ambiente como resultado de procesos y fenómenos naturales y también por intervención humana. A través del análisis de la película, fue posible identificar que varias escenas convergen con los objetivos de conocimiento que se desarrollarán en las unidades temáticas Materia y Energía y Vida y Evolución de la Base Nacional Comum Curricular. Este resultado destaca el potencial de la película "Las aventuras de Sammy" para ser utilizada en las clases de Enseñanza de Ciencias Naturales con estudiantes de los primeros años de la Escuela Primaria, así como para explorar temas y problemas ambientales emergentes.Os filmes constituem-se um valioso recurso didático no Ensino de Ciências da Natureza com vistas à promover a Alfabetização Científica. Contudo, a literatura aponta as dificuldades encontradas pelos professores para utilizar este recurso em suas aulas. Neste trabalho analisamos o filme “As aventuras de Sammy” com o objetivo de identificar os potenciais conteúdos que podem ser abordados em aulas de Ciências. A análise do filme foi realizada por dois especialistas da área de Ciências da Natureza. Este filme apresenta cenas com transformações do ambiente decorrentes de processos e fenômenos naturais e também pela intervenção do ser humano. Através da análise do filme foi possível identificar que várias cenas convergem com os objetivos de conhecimento a serem desenvolvidos nas unidades temáticas Matéria e Energia e Vida e Evolução da Base Nacional Comum Curricular.
