Resumo: | This study aims to report an experience of an extension course in Hematology applied in the Medicine course at UFSC-Araranguá. It is an experience report, descriptive and exploratory, with a qualitative approach. The course was held in four meetings, with the participation of 27 medical students, employing innovative teaching-learning strategies such as brainstorming, use of medical simulators, inverted classroom and discussion of clinical cases. The extension course aimed to deepen the students knowledge about contents applied to Hematology, complementing the curricular content. The following subjects were addressed: blood collection and distension for examination; coloring; blood cell morphology; erythrocyte and leukocyte count in Neubauer chamber; hematimetric indices; erythrocyte disorders; leukocyte disorders and blood count clinical approach. The strategies were well accepted by students who felt motivated to learn this area of knowledge. The extension course achieved its objective of complementing the curricular contents of the medical course, as well as expanding knowledge in the area of Hematology. |

Es un informe de experiencia, descriptivo y exploratorio, con un enfoque cualitativo. El curso se realizó en cuatro reuniones, con la participación de 27 estudiantes de medicina, empleando estrategias innovadoras de enseñanza-aprendizaje, tales como lluvia de ideas, uso de simuladores médicos, aula invertida y discusión de casos clínicos. El curso de extensión tuvo como objetivo profundizar el conocimiento de los estudiantes sobre los contenidos aplicados a la hematología, complementando el contenido curricular. Se abordaron los siguientes temas: extracción de sangre y extensión para examen; coloración morfología de las células sanguíneas; recuento de eritrocitos y leucocitos en la cámara de Neubauer; índices hematimétricos; trastornos de los eritrocitos; trastornos leucocitarios y enfoque clínico de recuento sanguíneo. Las estrategias fueron bien aceptadas por los estudiantes que se sintieron motivados para aprender esta área de conocimiento. El curso de extensión logró su objetivo de complementar los contenidos curriculares del curso médico, así como expandir el conocimiento en el área de Hematología.Este estudo objetiva relatar a experiência da aplicação de metodologias ativas em um curso de extensão em hematologia aplicado no curso de Medicina da UFSC-Araranguá. Trata-se de uma pesquisa aplicada, na modalidade de relato de experiência, descritiva e exploratória, com abordagem qualitativa. O curso foi realizado em quatro encontros, com a participação de 27 estudantes de Medicina, empregando estratégias inovadoras de ensino-aprendizagem como o brainstorming, uso de simuladores médicos, sala de aula invertida e discussão de casos clínicos. O curso de extensão teve por finalidade aprofundar o conhecimento dos estudantes sobre conteúdos aplicados à hematologia, complementando o conteúdo curricular. Os seguintes assuntos foram abordados: coleta e distensão de sangue para exame; coloração; morfologia de células sanguíneas; contagem de eritrócitos e leucócitos em câmara de Neubauer; índices hematimétricos; distúrbios dos eritrócitos; distúrbios dos leucócitos e abordagem clínica do hemograma. As estratégias metodológicas usadas no curso de extensão oportunizaram aos estudantes o conhecimento dos temas abordados e os mesmos se sentiram motivados em aprender esta área do conhecimento.
