Resumo: The book history and Politics of vocational education is the basis for the Reenha treated as an educational object here exposed. The author Marise Nogueira Ramos (2014) brings her contributions to the understanding of the policy of professional education throughout the history of Brazil in the perspective of secondary education based on integral human formation in counterpoint to the dictates of the models The current economic order, which strengthens the technical education models centered on the labour market. The review is organized according to the five chapters that compose the book, namely: Professional education in Brazil: The foundation of the capitalist state dependent on the crisis of the years 80; Professional education in neoliberal Brazil; Professional education in contemporary Brazil; Concepts for the construction of a conception of professional education committed to human formation; Guidelines for the organization and curriculum development. The considerations point to the major challenges that permeate the proposals for integration between technical professional education and general high school in Brazil contained in the devices of our legislation.

La revisión se organiza de acuerdo con los cinco capítulos que componen el libro, a saber: la educación profesional en Brasil: la Fundación del Estado capitalista dependiente de la crisis de los años 80; Educación profesional en Brasil neoliberal; Educación profesional en el Brasil contemporáneo; Conceptos para la construcción de una concepción de la educación profesional comprometida con la formación humana; Directrices para la organización y el desarrollo curricular. Las consideraciones apuntan a los principales retos que impregnan las propuestas de integración entre la educación técnica profesional y la preparatoria general en Brasil contenidas en los dispositivos de nuestra legislación.O livro História e Política da Educação Profissional é  base para a reenha ora tratada como objeto educacional aqui exposto. A autora Marise Nogueira Ramos (2014) traz suas contribuições para o entendimento da política de educação profissional ao longo da história do Brasil na perspectiva do ensino médio pautado na formação humana integral em contraponto aos ditames dos modelos educacionais voltados para a ordem econômica vigente, a qual fortalece os modelos de ensino técnico centrados no mercado de trabalho. A resenha está organizada de acordo com os cinco capítulos que compõem o livro, a saber: A educação profissional no Brasil: da fundação do Estado capitalista dependente à crise dos anos 80; A educação profissional no Brasil neoliberal; A educação profissional no Brasil contemporâneo; Conceitos para a construção de uma concepção de educação profissional comprometida com a formação humana; Diretrizes para a organização e desenvolvimento curricular.
