Integrative review about breastfeeding in the first hour of life

Resumo: Identify in the literature the scientific evidence about of context breastfeeding in the first hour of life. Integrative bibliographic research, carried out from March to June 2019 with search for data from the Virtual Health Library, in the Lilacs, Medline and Cochrane do Brasil databases, using the term 'breastfeeding' and keywords 'first hour of life'. 19 articles were selected (2 Cochrane, 1 Medline and 16 Lilacs). It was evident that women who had skin-to-skin contact in the first hour of life are more likely to breastfeed. And the professionals of the health services reported that the performance of normal birth has helped in the practice of breastfeeding in the first hour of life. Based on the selected articles, it was observed the importance of the 4th step of the Baby Friendly Hospital Initiative and how the commitment of health professionals and institutions is necessary. To this end, comprehensive assistance to women and their families is reinforced, starting with prenatal care, continuing at the time of birth, with support from the companion.

Metodología: Investigación bibliográfica de tipo integrativo, desarrollada de marzo a junio de 2019 con búsqueda de datos de la Biblioteca Virtual en Salud, en las bases de datos Lilacs, Medline y Cochrane do Brasil, utilizando el término 'lactancia materna' y palabras clave 'primero hora de vida'. Resultados y Discusión: Se seleccionaron 19 artículos (2 Cochrane, 1 Medline y 16 Lilacs). Se evidenció que las mujeres que tuvieron contacto piel con piel en la primera hora de vida tienen más probabilidades de amamantar. Y los profesionales de los servicios de salud informaron que la realización del parto normal ha ayudado en la práctica de la lactancia materna en la primera hora de vida. Conclusión: A partir de los artículos seleccionados, se observó la importancia del 4º paso de la Iniciativa Hospitales Amigos del Niño y cómo es necesario el compromiso de los profesionales e instituciones de salud. Para ello se refuerza la atención integral a la mujer y su familia, comenzando por la atención prenatal, continuando en el momento del parto, con el apoyo del acompañante.Identificar na literatura as evidências científicas acerca do contexto do aleitamento materno na primeira hora de vida. Pesquisa bibliográfica do tipo integrativa, desenvolvida no período de março a junho de 2019 com busca de dados da Biblioteca Virtual de Saúde, nas bases Lilacs, Medline e Cochrane do Brasil, tendo como descritor ‘aleitamento materno’ and palavra-chave ‘primeira hora de vida’. Foram selecionados 19 artigos (2 Cochrane, 1 Medline e 16 Lilacs). Ficou evidente que há maior probabilidade de amamentação nas mulheres que realizaram contato pele a pele na primeira hora de vida. E os profissionais dos serviços de saúde relataram que a realização do parto normal tem auxiliado na prática de aleitamento materno na primeira hora de vida. Tendo como base os artigos selecionados, observou-se a importância do 4º passo da Iniciativa Hospital Amigo da Criança e como é necessário o comprometimento dos profissionais e instituições de saúde.
