General overview of tomaticulture in the State in Goiás: a descriptive analysis from a bibliographic survey

Resumo: This research aims to present an overview of tomato production in the state of Goiás, given the State's representativeness in the national production and commercialization of tomatoes. In this study, through analysis of secondary data available from official research agencies, the area destined to tomato cultivation, as well as the volume produced with a focus on the variety of table and a 10-year time frame. The results indicate, according to the official research institutions that the chains are analyzed in a common way, or prioritizing the segment for industrial purposes, with the information found according to the search criteria used, only at the Mauro Borges Institute of Statistics and Socioeconomic Studies - IMB , confirming the hypothesis that there is a lack of detailed and separate information on the two types of cultivation systems called creepers for industrial tomatoes and cuttings for table tomatoes, which can potentially restrict the sector’s competitiveness.

En este estudio, a través del análisis de datos secundarios disponibles de agencias de investigación oficiales, se evaluó el área destinada al cultivo de tomates, así como el volumen producido con un enfoque en la variedad de la tabla y un marco de tiempo de 10 años. Los resultados indican, según las instituciones de investigación oficiales, que las cadenas se analizan de manera común, o priorizando el segmento para fines industriales, con la información encontrada de acuerdo con los criterios de búsqueda utilizados, solo en el Instituto de Estadística y Estudios Socioeconómicos Mauro Borges - IMB , confirmando la hipótesis de que hay una falta de información detallada y separada sobre los dos tipos de sistemas de cultivo llamados enredaderas para tomates industriales y esquejes para tomates.Essa pesquisa tem por objetivo apresentar um panorama geral da tomaticultura no Estado de Goiás, dada a representatividade do Estado na produção e comercialização nacional de tomate. Foram avaliados, nesse estudo, por meio de análise de dados secundários disponibilizados em Órgãos oficiais de pesquisa, a área destinada ao cultivo do tomate, bem como o volume produzido com foco na variedade de mesa e recorte temporal de 10 anos.
