Resumo: | Objectives: To know the profile of adult patients who required hospitalization in intensive care units at Hospital Naval Marcilio Dias, a military institution, located in the city of Rio de Janeiro. Methodology: Quantitative study, with a descriptive and cross-sectional approach, mediated by documentary analysis. The universe of the study were the medical records of patients aged 18 to 59 years with confirmed diagnosis for coronavirus and who required hospitalization in intensive care unit in the period from March 2020 to September 2021. Results: By accessing the medical records a final (n) of 176 patients within the age range comprised in the study was identified, with a focus on characterization of the participants; therapies implemented and complications/iatrogenies presented by patients in the intensive care units. Final considerations: A change in the age profile of patients with COVID-19 in the severe and critical forms was noticed, identifying the profile of higher prevalence in characteristics such as male gender, age between 50 and 59 years, comorbidities such as hypertension, obesity and diabetes mellitus among others. |

Metodología: Estudio cuantitativo, con un enfoque descriptivo y transversal, mediado por el análisis documental. El universo del estudio fueron las historias clínicas de los pacientes de entre 18 y 59 años con diagnóstico confirmado para coronavirus y que requirieron hospitalización en la unidad de cuidados intensivos en el periodo comprendido entre marzo de 2020 y septiembre de 2021. Resultados: Al acceder a las historias clínicas se identificó un número final (n) de 176 pacientes dentro del rango de edad comprendido en el estudio, centrándose en la caracterización de los participantes; las terapias implementadas y las complicaciones/iatrogenias que presentan los pacientes en las unidades de cuidados intensivos. Consideraciones finales: Se observó un cambio en el perfil de edad de los pacientes con COVID-19 en las formas graves y críticas, identificando el perfil de mayor prevalencia en características como el sexo masculino, la edad entre 50 y 59 años, comorbilidades como la hipertensión, la obesidad y la diabetes mellitus entre otras.Objetivos: Conhecer o perfil dos pacientes adultos que necessitaram internação em unidades de terapia intensiva no Hospital Naval Marcilio Dias, instituição militar, localizada na cidade do Rio de Janeiro. Metodologia: Estudo quantitativo, de abordagem descritiva e tipologia transversal, mediado por análise documental. O universo do estudo foram os prontuários de pacientes de 18 a 59 anos com diagnóstico confirmado para coronavírus e que necessitaram de internação em unidade de terapia intensiva no período de março de 2020 a setembro de 2021. Resultados: Ao acessar os prontuários identificou-se um (n) final de 176 pacientes dentro da faixa etária compreendida no estudo, com foco na caracterização dos participantes; terapias implementadas e complicações/iatrogenias apresentadas pelos pacientes nas unidades de terapia intensiva.
