Resumo: Since, since ancient times, gastronomy is highly influenced by society and also changes and influences the way of life and eating habits of the same. In this context, this article aims to address how some religions change the way people see certain foods. This view ranges from prohibitions and restrictions to the importance of certain foods in some religions, as part of the culture. This research is characterized as an integrative literature review, where selected articles were analyzed through the inclusion criteria. It is based on the theme “Religion and food consumption: Review”. Literature published in English and Portuguese was sought as a priority for the study. For this, a literature search was carried out using some keywords such as: Gastronomy; Food; Religion. This article intends to develop a reflection on how religion influences the consumption of certain foods around the world and how it affects people's lives. Some customs and eating habits of some religions such as Catholicism, Buddhism and Hinduism will also be addressed. This article is based only on bibliographic analyzes and analyzes of materials produced by other specialists.

En este contexto, este artículo tiene como objetivo abordar cómo algunas religiones cambian la forma en que las personas ven ciertos alimentos. Esta visión va desde prohibiciones y restricciones hasta la importancia de ciertos alimentos en algunas religiones como parte de la cultura. Esta investigación se caracteriza por ser una revisión integrativa de la literatura, en la que se analizaron artículos seleccionados a través de los criterios de inclusión. Se basa en el tema “Religión y consumo de alimentos: Revisión”. Para ello se realizó una investigación en la literatura utilizando algunas palabras clave como: Gastronomía, Comida, Religión. El objetivo de este artículo es desarrollar una reflexión sobre cómo la religión influye en el consumo de ciertos alimentos alrededor del mundo y cómo esto afecta la vida de las personas. También cubrirá algunas costumbres y hábitos alimenticios de algunas religiones como el catolicismo, el budismo y el hinduismo. Este artículo se basa únicamente en análisis bibliográficos y análisis de materiales producidos por otros especialistas.Visto que, desde a antiguidade, a gastronomia é altamente influenciada pela sociedade e altera e influência no modo de vida e nos hábitos alimentares da mesma. Nesse contexto, este artigo visa abordar como algumas religiões modificam a forma que um povo vê determinados alimentos. Essa visão engloba desde proibições e restrições até a importância de determinados alimentos em algumas religiões, como parte da cultura. Essa pesquisa caracteriza-se como uma revisão integrativa da literatura, onde foram analisados artigos selecionados por meio dos critérios de inclusão. Tem como base o tema “A religião e consumo de alimentos: Revisão”. Buscou-se como prioridade do estudo literaturas publicadas em inglês e português. Para isso, foi realizada uma pesquisa na literatura utilizando algumas palavras-chaves como: Gastronomia; Alimento; Religião. Pretende-se, com este artigo, desenvolver uma reflexão sobre como a religião influencia no consumo de determinados alimentos ao redor do mundo e como isso afeta a vida das pessoas. Também será abordado alguns costumes e hábitos alimentares de algumas religiões como Catolicismo, Budismo e Hinduísmo.
