Crateús in the fight against racism: teachers' reflections on an activity in a non-formal educational space

Resumo: The present work deals with a pedagogical experience entitled “Crateús in the fight against racism”, held in a non-formal educational space, in December 2018, in the municipality of Crateús / CE. It aims to address the concepts of prejudice, racism and intolerance and to present the Brazilian legal apparatus that deal with equality and the dignity of the human person, such as the Federal Constitution of 1988, the “Caó” Law and the Racial Equality Statute. In the educational field, it highlights the importance of Law 11,645 / 2008, which includes in the official curriculum of the education network the mandatory theme of Afro-Brazilian and Indigenous History and Culture. Through descriptive research, with a qualitative approach, this article brings up reflections on the event, which took place in a public square and was designed, built and carried out by representatives of several institutions and aimed at the entire population. The activity aimed to generate a reflection on the theme of racism and the necessary movement of resistance and struggle to affirm, consolidate and expand the rights of the black population. Using spaces that are not the classroom and privileging other actors in the teaching and learning process that are not teachers and students, proved to be potentializers in carrying out reflective and educational actions.

Tiene como objetivo abordar los conceptos de prejuicio, racismo e intolerancia y presentar el aparato jurídico brasileño que se ocupa de la igualdad y la dignidad de la persona humana, como la Constitución Federal de 1988, la Ley “Caó” y el Estatuto de Igualdad Racial. En el ámbito educativo, destaca la importancia de la Ley 11.645 / 2008, que incluye en el currículo oficial de la red educativa el tema obligatorio de Historia y Cultura Afrobrasileña e Indígena. A través de una investigación descriptiva, con un enfoque cualitativo, este artículo plantea reflexiones sobre el evento, que tuvo lugar en una plaza pública y fue diseñado, construido y llevado a cabo por representantes de diferentes instituciones y dirigido a toda la población. La actividad tuvo como objetivo generar una reflexión sobre el tema del racismo y el necesario movimiento de resistencia y lucha para afirmar, consolidar y ampliar los derechos de la población negra. Utilizar espacios que no son el aula y privilegiar en el proceso de enseñanza y aprendizaje a otros actores que no son docentes y estudiantes, demostraron ser potenciadores en la realización de acciones reflexivas y educativas.O presente trabalho versa sobre uma experiência pedagógica intitulada “Crateús na luta contra o racismo”, realizada em um espaço educativo não-formal, em dezembro de 2018, no município de Crateús/CE. Tem como objetivo abordar os conceitos de preconceito, racismo e intolerância e apresentar os aparatos legais brasileiros que versam sobre a igualdade e a dignidade da pessoa humana, como a Constituição Federal de 1988, a Lei “Caó” e o Estatuto da Igualdade Racial. No âmbito educacional destaca a importância da Lei 11.645/2008 que inclui no currículo oficial da rede de ensino a obrigatoriedade da temática História e Cultura Afro-Brasileira e Indígena. Através de uma pesquisa descritiva, com abordagem qualitativa, este artigo traz à baila reflexões sobre o evento, que aconteceu em praça pública e foi pensado, construído e realizado por representantes de diversas Instituições e destinado a toda a população. A atividade teve como objetivo gerar uma reflexão sobre a temática do racismo e o necessário movimento de resistência e luta para afirmação, consolidação e ampliação de direitos da população negra.
