Satisfaction of pregnant women with prenatal care in basic health units in the Brazilian Midwest

Resumo: Objective: to assess the satisfaction and expectations of pregnant women with prenatal care realized in basic health service in a Brazilian Midwest city. Methods: quantitative cross-sectional study whose sample consisted of 107 pregnant women attended in basic health service, aged 18 years or over and attended at least three prenatal appointments. It was used an instrument with sociodemographic variables and the Brazilian version of Patient Expectations and Satisfaction whit Prenatal Care (PESPC). Statiscal analysis was performed using the independent t test, with statistical significance at 5%. Results: average age of 25.6 (SD=5, 7) years; most married (80, 4%); brown-skinned (62, 6%); housewife (46, 7%); monthly family income up to two minimum wages (43,9%); four to seven years of study (58, 9%); gestational age ranged from 15 to 39 weeks of gestation, more than one pregnancy (38, 3%); one parturition (37, 4%) and one child (37,4%). Satisfaction was associated with complications in the previous pregnancy (p<0, 05). Conclusion: the satisfaction of the pregnant women demonstrated a positive level in terms of professional care, the form of treatment received the interest of the team in transmitting information, the ease of scheduling appointments and carrying out tests during the prenatal care period.

Métodos: un estudio transversal cuantitativo cuya muestra consistió en 107 mujeres embarazadas atendidas en unidades básicas de salud, de 18 años o más y que habían realizado al menos tres consultas prenatales. Se utilizó un instrumento con variables sociodemográficas y la versión brasileña de Expectativas y satisfacción del paciente con atención prenatal (PESPC). El análisis de los datos se realizó mediante la prueba t independiente, con significación estadística al 5%. Resultados: edad promedio de 25.6 (DE = 5.7) años; mayoría de casados / unión estable (80.4%); marrón (62.6%); del hogar (46.7%); ingreso familiar mensual hasta dos salarios mínimos (43.9%); cuatro a siete años de estudio (58.9%); la edad gestacional varió de 15 a 39 semanas de gestación, multigesta (38.3%), un parto (37.4%); un niño (37.4%). La satisfacción se asoció con la variable de complicaciones en el embarazo anterior (p <0.05). Conclusión: la satisfacción de las mujeres embarazadas demostró un nivel positivo en términos de atención profesional, la forma de tratamiento recibido, el interés del equipo en transmitir información, la facilidad de programar citas y realizar pruebas durante el período prenatal.Objetivo: avaliar a satisfação e expectativas de gestantes em relação a assistência pré-natal realizada nas unidades de atenção básica de saúde em um município do Centro-Oeste brasileiro. Métodos: estudo transversal quantitativo cuja amostra foi constituída de 107 gestantes atendidas nas unidades básicas de saúde, com idade igual ou superior a 18 anos e que realizaram no mínimo três consultas de pré-natal. Utilizou-se um instrumento com variáveis sociodemográficas e a versão brasileira do Patient Expectations and Satisfaction whit Prenatal Care (PESPC). A análise dos dados foi realizada por meio do teste t independente, com significância estatística em 5%. Resultados: idade média de 25,6 (DP=5,7) anos, maioria casadas/união estável (80,4%), cor parda (62,6%), do lar (46,7%), renda mensal familiar de até dois salários mínimos (43,9%), de quatro a sete anos de estudo (58,9%); idade gestacional variou de 15 a 39 semanas de gestação, multigesta (38,3%), um parto (37,4%), um filho (37,4%). A satisfação associou-se à variável complicações na gestação anterior (p<0,05).
