Resumo: The objective of the study is to analyse the index of a household stock of drugs by pharmacy students from the 7th to the 9th night shift at a higher education institution in Imperatriz-MA. This is quantitative research with a descriptive method approach. A survey had the participation of 72 students. When asked about the existence of medications in their homes, 100% of the public research stated that they had medications stored at home. Regarding the storage area for medicines in their homes, students showed a preference for the bedroom. Analgesics stood out as the therapeutic class most used by students and anti-inflammatory drugs stood out in second place. When asked about the practice of self-medication, more than half said they perform this practice. The transported data show that 77.8% of the studied population discard medications in conventional garbage. It is necessary to expand programs aimed at health education as a tool to promote awareness among the population regarding the necessary skills for packaging and disposing of medicines in homes, as these issues can compromise both man and the environment.

Se trata de una investigación cuantitativa, con un enfoque de método descriptivo. Una encuesta contó con la participación de 72 estudiantes. Cuando se les preguntó sobre la existencia de medicamentos en sus hogares, el 100% de la investigación pública afirmó que tenían medicamentos almacenados en sus hogares. En cuanto al área de almacenamiento de medicamentos en sus hogares, los estudiantes mostraron preferencia por el dormitorio. Los analgésicos se destacaron como la clase terapéutica más utilizada por los estudiantes y los antiinflamatorios se destacaron en segundo lugar. Cuando se les preguntó sobre la práctica de la automedicación, más de la mitad dijeron que realizan esta práctica. Los datos transportados muestran que el 77,8% de la población estudiada desecha medicamentos en la basura convencional. Es necesario ampliar los programas orientados a la educación para la salud como herramienta para sensibilizar a la población sobre las habilidades necesarias para el envasado y disposición de medicamentos en los hogares, ya que estos temas pueden comprometer tanto al hombre como al medio ambiente.O principal objetivo do estudo é analisar o índice de estoque domiciliar de medicamentos pelos estudantes de farmácia do 7° ao 9° período noturno de uma instituição de ensino superior em Imperatriz -Ma. Trata-se de uma pesquisa do tipo quantitativa, com abordagem no método descritivo. A pesquisa teve a participação de 72 estudantes. Ao serem questionados sobre a existência de medicamentos em suas residências 100% do público da pesquisa afirmaram possuir medicamentos estocados em domicílio. Referente a área de estocagem dos medicamentos nas suas residências os estudantes demonstraram preferência pelo quarto. Os analgésicos se destacaram como a classe terapêutica mais utilizada pelos estudantes e em segundo lugar os anti-inflamatórios se destacaram. Ao serem questionados sobre a prática de automedicação mais da metade afirmou que realizam essa prática. Os dados analisados evidenciam que 77,8% da população estudada descartam os medicamentos em lixo convencional.
