Resumo: To know the strategies and social support network of the family in the care of seropositive children / adolescents. Descriptive, exploratory and qualitative carried out in southern Brazil in 2018. Participated 20 family caregivers of HIV-positive children / adolescents. Data were collected through interviews and submitted to Content Analysis. Ethical principles were respected. Some are dedicated exclusively. They use objects to remember the medication. They prepare a varied menu and make the child / teenager help with the preparation. They check the card and consult the calendar. They guide the child / adolescent to be independent and aware. Some have no strategies. They adapt their schedules to spouses. As for the network used, one of the participants did not have it. Those who owned mentioned spouses, boyfriends, grandparents, sisters and friends. It is necessary to work with nursing through health education, so that families are instructed and prepared to deal with adversity.

Descriptiva, exploratoria y cualitativa realizada en el sur de Brasil en 2018. Participaron 20 cuidadores familiares de niños / adolescentes VIH positivos. Los datos fueron recolectados a través de entrevistas y enviados a Análisis de Contenido. Se respetaron los principios éticos. Algunos se dedican exclusivamente. Usan objetos para recordar la medicación. Preparan un menú variado y hacen que el niño / adolescente ayude con la preparación. Verifican la tarjeta y consultan el calendario. Guían al niño / adolescente a ser independiente y consciente. Algunos no tienen estrategias. Adaptan sus horarios a los cónyuges. En cuanto a la red utilizada, uno de los participantes no la tenía. Aquellos que poseían mencionaron cónyuges, novios, abuelos, hermanas y amigos. Es necesario trabajar con enfermería a través de la educación sanitaria, para que las familias estén instruidas y preparadas para enfrentar la adversidad.Conhecer as estratégias e rede de apoio social da família no cuidado à criança/adolescente soropositivo. Estudo descritivo, exploratório e qualitativo realizado no sul do Brasil em 2018. Participaram 20 familiares cuidadores de crianças/adolescentes soropositivos. Os dados foram coletados por entrevistas e submetidos à Análise de Conteúdo. Respeitaram-se os princípios éticos. Alguns dedicam-se exclusivamente. Utilizam objetos para lembrar-se da medicação. Preparam um cardápio variado e fazem com que a criança/adolescente ajude na preparação. Verificam a carteirinha e no calendário as consultas. Orientam a criança/adolescente para que ela seja independente e consciente. Alguns não possuem estratégias. Adaptam seus horários aos cônjuges. Quanto à rede utilizada, um dos participantes não possuía. Os que possuíam mencionaram cônjuges, namorado, avós, irmãs e amigos.
