Resumo: | The main objective is to evaluate the use of the PEC'S system, being an alternative communication, in the treatment of autistic children who do not verbalize. This is bibliographic, explanatory and descriptive research. It presents itself with a subjective character of the analyzed object, in order to seek to understand its particularities, as a way of understanding how the PECS system is used, as a way of understanding the lexical repertoire of each individual. The treatment symbolizes one of the most effective therapeutic forms in autistic people who do not verbalize, however, its duration is indeterminate, and there may be individual variations, due to this, the treatment of cases must be individualized and singular. It was observed that the use of PECS, as a therapeutic method, favored the treatment of children with ASD, due to being a promoter of verbal communication, in which they present speech difficulties, despite being an individual teaching strategy. |

Se trata de una investigación bibliográfica, explicativa y descriptiva. Se presenta con un carácter subjetivo del objeto analizado, con el fin de buscar comprender sus particularidades, como una forma de entender cómo se utiliza el sistema PECS, como una forma de entender el repertorio léxico de cada individuo. El tratamiento simboliza una de las formas terapéuticas más efectivas en las personas autistas que no verbalizan, sin embargo, su duración es indeterminada, pudiendo haber variaciones individuales, por ello, la forma de tratamiento establecida en estos casos, debe ser individualizada y singular. Se observó que el uso de PECS, como método terapéutico, favoreció el tratamiento de niños con TEA, por ser un promotor de la comunicación verbal, en individuos que presentan dificultades del habla, a pesar de ser una estrategia de enseñanza individual.Constitui-se como objetivo principal avaliar a utilização do sistema PEC’S, sendo uma comunicação alternativa, no tratamento de crianças autistas que não verbalizam. Trata-se de pesquisa bibliográfica, explicativa e descritiva. Apresenta-se com caráter subjetivo do objeto analisado, com o intuito de buscar compreender suas particularidades, como forma de entender como é utilizado o sistema PECS, como forma de compreender o repertório lexical de cada indivíduo. O tratamento simboliza uma das formas terapêuticas mais eficaz em autistas que não verbalizam, entretanto, sua duração é indeterminada, podendo haver variações individuais, devido a isso, a forma de tratamento estabelecida nesses casos, deverá ser individualizada e singular.
