Cartoons in scientific literacy: possibilities and alternative methodological tools in science and biology teaching

Resumo: Scientific dissemination and popularization is an increasingly emerging need today. Amid so much incomplete or misleading information, providing reliable scientific information to the general population is fundamental to Science development. In this sense, cartoons are an interesting possibility for scientific dissemination and popularization, since not only children have access to such content, but also their carers. Thus, the present work analyzed three episodes of the “Show da Luna” cartoon. The analysis criteria were: concept, language and applicability in a school environment. It was found that the analyzed episodes don't show errors or conceptual distortions, as well as they use appropriate language for the audience for which they are intended. In addition, although it is a children cartoon, the episodes can be used as methodological tools in science and biology teaching.

En este sentido, las animaciones se presentan como una interesante posibilidad de divulgación y divulgación científica, ya que no solo los niños tienen acceso a dicho contenido sino también sus padres. Así, el presente trabajo buscó analizar tres episodios de la animación “Show da Luna”, los criterios de análisis fueron: concepto, lenguaje y aplicabilidad en el ámbito escolar. Tras el análisis, se pudo constatar que los episodios analizados no presentaron errores ni distorsiones conceptuales, utilizan un lenguaje adecuado a la edad de la audiencia a la que están destinados y si bien se trata de una animación dirigida a niños, son totalmente posibles de ser utilizados como herramientas metodológicas en la enseñanza. ciencia y biología.A divulgação e popularização científica é uma necessidade cada vez mais emergente na atualidade. Em meio a tantas informações incompletas ou equivocadas, fornecer informações científicas confiáveis à população em geral, é fundamental para o desenvolvimento da Ciência. Nesse sentido, as animações apresentam-se como uma possibilidade interessante para divulgação e popularização científica, uma vez que não apenas as crianças têm acesso a tais conteúdos, mas também os seus responsáveis. Dessa forma, o presente trabalho analisou três episódios da animação “Show da Luna”. Os critérios de análise foram: conceito, linguagem e aplicabilidade em ambiente escolar. Verificou-se que os episódios analisados não apresentam erros ou distorções conceituais, bem como utilizam uma linguagem apropriada para o público a que se destinam.
