The perception of accessibility for people with disabilities by the student at the Federal University of Pampa - Campus Santana do Livramento

Resumo: | The work is part of a research carried out at the Federal University of Pampa - Campus Santana do Livramento. The main objective is to understand the perception of university students about accessibility for people with disabilities to the facilities and services offered by the institution already mentioned, and to relate it to that proposed by Brazilian public policies on the subject. The research asks what is the perception of university students who are distant from the situation experienced by people with disabilities, and whether, according to their knowledge, what is offered by the Institution is compatible with public policies. To achieve the proposed objective, a questionnaire was conducted with open and closed questions as an instrument to collect data. The research also addresses the Center for Inclusion and Accessibility (NInA) regarding its history and actions. It is concluded that the participation of the interviewees reveals a significant visual and social perception of people with disabilities on campus, but, at the same time, a less profound knowledge in relation to public policies regarding people with disabilities, as well as Brazilian laws. However, there is a wide interest in obtaining more in-depth knowledge and participating in inclusion activities and actions. Thus, the role of NInA in terms of expanding accessibility and reaching university students for involvement in the theme is discovered. |

El objetivo principal es comprender la percepción de los estudiantes universitarios sobre la accesibilidad de las personas con discapacidad a las instalaciones y servicios que ofrece la institución ya mencionada, y relacionarla con la propuesta por las políticas públicas brasileñas en la materia. La investigación pregunta cuál es la percepción de los estudiantes universitarios que se alejan de la situación que viven las personas con discapacidad y si, según sus conocimientos, lo que ofrece la Institución es compatible con las políticas públicas. Para lograr el objetivo propuesto, se realizó un cuestionario con preguntas abiertas y cerradas como instrumento de recolección de datos. La investigación también se dirige al Centro de Inclusión y Accesibilidad (NInA) con respecto a su historia y acciones. Se concluye que la participación de los entrevistados revela una percepción visual y social significativa de las personas con discapacidad en el campus, pero, al mismo tiempo, un conocimiento menos profundo en relación a las políticas públicas sobre personas con discapacidad, así como las leyes brasileñas. Sin embargo, existe un gran interés en profundizar en el conocimiento y participar en actividades y acciones de inclusión. Así, se descubre el papel de NInA en términos de ampliar la accesibilidad y llegar a los estudiantes universitarios para que se involucren en el tema.O trabalho parte de uma pesquisa realizada na Universidade Federal do Pampa – Campus Santana do Livramento. O objetivo principal foi conhecer a percepção dos universitários sobre a acessibilidade para pessoas com deficiência às dependências e aos serviços ofertados pela Instituição já mencionada, e relacioná-la ao proposto pelas políticas públicas brasileiras referentes ao tema. A pesquisa indaga qual é a percepção dos universitários que estão distantes da situação vivida pelas pessoas com deficiência, e se, de acordo com o conhecimento deles, o que é ofertado pela Instituição está compatível com as políticas públicas. Para alcançar o objetivo proposto foi realizado questionário com perguntas abertas e fechadas como instrumento para coletar dados. A pesquisa aborda ainda o Núcleo de Inclusão e Acessibilidade (NInA) quanto ao seu histórico e ações. Conclui-se que a participação dos entrevistados revela uma significativa percepção visual e social de pessoas com deficiência no campus, mas, ao mesmo tempo, um conhecimento menos profundo em relação às políticas públicas referentes a pessoa com deficiência, assim como das legislações brasileiras. Contudo, há um amplo interesse pela obtenção de conhecimento mais aprofundado e pela participação em atividades e ações de inclusão.
