Resumo: Cashew leaf extracts have been shown to be effective in the treatment of diseases and also do not allow the proliferation of microorganisms, such as fungi and bacteria. However, in Brazil, leaves have not had their deserved prominence, since most agricultural producers consider tree pruning as a waste, since the industry, in general, does not recognize its relevance due to applications and properties. The objective of this study was to identify the secondary metabolites of the hydroethanolic extract of the leaf of Anacardiumoccidentale L., through a qualitative method of precipitation. The extract showed positive results for the following metabolites: alkaloids, tannins, steroids/triterpenes. Thus, the extract has the potential to be explored as a phytotherapic.

Sin embargo, en Brasil las hojas no han tenido su merecido protagonismo, ya que la mayoría de los productores agrícolas consideran las podas de los árboles como un desecho, ya que la industria, en general, no reconoce su relevancia por las aplicaciones y propiedades. El objetivo de este estudio fue identificar los metabolitos secundarios del extracto hidroetanólico de la hoja de Anacardiumoccidentale L., mediante el método cualitativo de precipitación. El extracto mostró resultados positivos para los siguientes metabolitos: alcaloides, taninos, esteroides/triterpenos. Por lo tanto, el extracto presenta potencial para ser explorado como fitoterápico.Os extratos das folhas do cajueiro têm se mostrado eficazes no tratamento de doenças e também não permite a proliferação de micro-organismos, como fungos e bactérias. Porém, no Brasil as folhas não têm tido seu destaque merecido, uma vez que a maioria dos produtores agrícolas consideram as podas das árvores como um rejeito, já que a indústria, de modo geral, não reconhece sua relevância devido às aplicações e propriedades. O objetivo desse estudo foi identificar os metabólitos secundários do extrato hidroetanólico da folha da Anacardiumoccidentale L., através de método qualitativo de precipitação. O extrato apresentou resultado positivo para os seguintes metabólitos: alcaloides, taninos, esteroides/triterpenos.
