Competencies of Engineers in Industry 4.0

Resumo: Industry 4.0 has gained prominence in the last decade, becoming fundamental in manufacturing environments; this situation imposed changes in the skills required of employees working in the institutions. The article intends to understand what skills engineering professionals must have to work in this recent production methodology. The work was developed through a systematic literature review, using the Scopus database as a search engine, and had as strings expressions related to industry 4.0, engineering skills and engineering training. IRAMUTEQ software was also used to support research interpretations. The results showed a set of skills necessary for engineers to work in Industry 4.0: personal, social, action, methodological and technical skills. Furthermore, using the IRAMUTEQ software, it was possible to create word clouds using research articles; this cloud highlighted the expressions: Industry, Competence, Learning, Technology, Teaching and Research., concluding that within the theme, these aspects are of fundamental importance.

El artículo pretende comprender qué habilidades deben tener los profesionales de la ingeniería para trabajar en esta reciente metodología de producción. El trabajo se desarrolló a través de una revisión sistemática de la literatura, utilizando la base de datos Scopus como motor de búsqueda, y tuvo como cadenas expresiones relacionadas con la industria 4.0, las habilidades de ingeniería y la formación en ingeniería. El software IRAMUTEQ también se utilizó para respaldar las interpretaciones de la investigación. Los resultados mostraron un conjunto de habilidades necesarias para que los ingenieros trabajen en la Industria 4.0: habilidades personales, sociales, de acción, metodológicas y técnicas. Además, utilizando el software IRAMUTEQ fue posible crear nubes de palabras a partir de artículos de investigación; esta nube destacó las expresiones: Industry, Competence, Learning, Technology, Teaching and Research., concluyendo que dentro del tema, estos aspectos son de fundamental importancia.A Indústria 4.0 ganhou destaque na última década, tornando-se fundamental em ambientes fabris; essa conjuntura impôs mudanças nas competências exigidas dos funcionários que atuam nas instituições. O artigo pretende compreender quais as competências que os profissionais de engenharia devem ter para atuar nesta recente metodologia de produção. O trabalho foi desenvolvido por meio de uma revisão sistemática da literatura, utilizando a base de dados Scopus como mecanismo de busca, e teve como strings expressões relacionadas à indústria 4.0, habilidades de engenharia e treinamento em engenharia. O software IRAMUTEQ também foi utilizado para apoiar as interpretações da pesquisa. Os resultados mostraram um conjunto de habilidades necessárias para que os engenheiros trabalhem na indústria 4.0: habilidades pessoais, sociais, de ação, metodológicas e técnicas.
