Resumo: Breast cancer (BC) is the disease that kills most women worldwide, making it a serious public health problem. Due to its high incidence and mortality rate, it is one of the most preventable cancers and due to difficulties in accessing mammography in some regions, many cities do not reach the agreed goal for tumor screening. Therefore, this study aimed to make a diagnosis on the situation of breast cancer screening in the perception of health professionals. 4th Health Region of Alagoas, from March to September 2017. The professionals surveyed were mostly female, with 98.1% nurses and 66.7% doctors, Brazilians. More than 80% of respondents said they know the risk factors and all believe that mammography is important. In view of the results achieved, it was observed that the professionals of the teams of the family health units are aware of the importance of breast cancer screening, at the three levels of primary, secondary and tertiary prevention. The contractual goals will only be met when more effective measures are taken in the participation of municipalities to ensure breast cancer screening, both in access to mammography and complementary exams, which involves from raising women's awareness of the importance of self-care and carrying out the screening exams.

Por su alta incidencia y mortalidad, es uno de los cánceres más prevenibles y debido a las dificultades para acceder a la mamografía en algunas regiones, muchas ciudades no alcanzan la meta acordada para el tamizaje tumoral. Por lo tanto, este estudio tuvo como objetivo hacer un diagnóstico sobre la situación del tamizaje del cáncer de mama en la percepción de los profesionales de salud de la 4ª Región de Salud de Alagoas, de marzo a septiembre de 2017. Los profesionales encuestados fueron en su mayoría mujeres, con 98,1% enfermeras y 66,7% médicos, brasileños. Más del 80% de los encuestados afirmó conocer los factores de riesgo y todos creen que la mamografía es importante. Frente a los resultados alcanzados, se observó que los profesionales de los equipos de las unidades de salud de la familia son conscientes de la importancia del tamizaje del cáncer de mama, en los tres niveles de prevención primaria, secundaria y terciaria. Las metas acordadas solo se cumplirán cuando se tomen medidas más efectivas en la participación de los municipios para asegurar el tamizaje del cáncer de mama, tanto en el acceso a la mamografía como a los exámenes complementarios, lo que implica desde sensibilizar a las mujeres sobre la importancia del autocuidado y realizar las exámenes de detección.O câncer de mama (CM) é a doença que mais mata mulheres em todo mundo, tornando-se um grave problema de saúde pública. Por apresentar uma alta incidência e taxa de mortalidade, é um dos cânceres mais preveníveis e por possuir dificuldades de acesso à mamografia em algumas regiões, muitas cidades não atingem a meta pactual para o rastreamento do tumor. Portanto, este estudo teve por objetivo realizar um diagnóstico sobre a situação do rastreamento do câncer de mama na percepção dos profissionais de saúde Trata-se de um estudo observacional, transversal, sendo realizado nas unidades de saúde da família (USF) dos municípios participantes da 4ª região de Saúde de Alagoas, no período entre março a setembro 2017. Os profissionais pesquisados foram em sua maioria do sexo feminino com 98,1% enfermeiras e 66,7% de médicas, brasileiros. Mais de 80% dos entrevistados afirmaram conhecer os fatores de risco e todos acreditam que a mamografia é importante. Diante dos resultados alcançados, pôde-se observar que os profissionais das equipes das unidades de saúde da família são conhecedores da importância do rastreamento do câncer de mama, nos três níveis de prevenção primária, secundária e terciária.
