Resumo: Lactose intolerance is defined as a disorder that occurs in the digestive tract, and this happens due to little or no lactase production by the small intestine, its manifestations vary according to the amount of milk and derivatives ingested. The aim of this study was to conduct a literature review on scientific evidence related to lactose intolerance. For the selection of the sample, articles were used in national annexes from 2012 to 2020. The articles were searched in the following electronic databases: in the Scientific Electronic Library Online repository (SciELO) and in the Google Scholar portal/repository. Employing the descriptors: "calcium", "lactose intolerance" and "milk", registered in the Descriptors in Health Science (DeCS). Initially, 30 articles were selected that addressed the descriptors, which after analysis of the object of study and the inclusion and exclusion criteria, remained 9 articles. It was observed that lactose intolerance is a digestive pathology that affects all ages, which can lead to disorders in the patient's condition, causing an insufficiency of micronutrients, especially calcium. Thus, it is concluded that it is necessary to care for patients, that is, they need a nutritional follow-up to avoid greater damage to their health status, supplementing according to the need of each patient to avoid toxicity.

Thus, it is concluded that it is necessary to care for patients, that is, they need a nutritional follow-up to avoid greater damage to their health status, supplementing according to the need of each patient to avoid toxicity. Research, Society and Development2020-11-03info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/article/view/933110.33448/rsd-v9i11.9331Research, Society and Development; Vol. 9 No. 11; e509119331Research, Society and Development; Vol. 9 Núm. 11; e509119331Research, Society and Development; v. 9 n. 11; e5091193312525-3409reponame:Research, Society and Developmentinstname:Universidade Federal de Itajubá (UNIFEI)instacron:UNIFEIporhttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/article/view/9331/8519Copyright (c) 2020 Amanda Bruna da Costa Silva; Kênnia Regina Santos Araújo; Luiza Marly Freitas de Carvalhohttps://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccess Silva, Amanda Bruna da Costa Araújo, Kênnia Regina SantosCarvalho, Luiza Marly Freitas de2020-12-10T23:37:57Zoai:ojs.pkp.sfu.ca:article/9331Revistahttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/indexPUBhttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/oairsd.articles@gmail.com2525-34092525-3409opendoar:2024-01-17T09:31:38.637478Research, Society and Development - Universidade Federal de Itajubá (UNIFEI)false
