Business Models, Strategy and Innovation: necessary reflections in the digital transformation society

Resumo: | The technological transformations experienced in recent years have expanded the discussions about the impact of technologies on society in general and on organizations. Based on this context, the objective of this article was to analyse the relations between the construct’s digital transformation, business model, organizational strategy and dynamic capabilities, as well as their insertion in the theme of innovation. This is a theoretical essay based on the analysis of consolidated publications and recent discussions that address the themes of business model, strategy, and digital transformation. The results indicate a close relationship between the themes, with the search for new business models, digital transformation and the adoption of specific strategies by organizations being identified as ways to generate value for customers, foster innovation and, ultimately, create sustainable competitive advantage for organizations. It is concluded that, notwithstanding the common objective, the sectored conduct of these themes in the organizational context can be detrimental to the achievement of organizational objectives. It is understood that the article contributes to discussions about the relationships between business model and strategy, including the context of digital transformation as yet another element. |

A partir de este contexto, el objetivo de este artículo fue analizar las relaciones entre los constructos transformación digital, modelo de negocio, estrategia organizativa y capacidades dinámicas, así como la inserción de estos en el tema de la innovación. Este es un ensayo teórico basado en el análisis de publicaciones consolidadas y debates recientes que abordan los temas de modelo de negocio, estrategia y transformación digital. Los resultados apuntan a una estrecha relación entre estos temas, identificándose la búsqueda de nuevos modelos de negocio, la transformación digital y la adopción de estrategias específicas por parte de las organizaciones como formas de generar valor para los clientes, fomentar la innovación y, en definitiva, crear una ventaja competitiva sostenible para las organizaciones. Se concluye que, a pesar del objetivo común, la conducción sectorizada de estos temas en el contexto organizativo puede ser perjudicial para la consecución de los objetivos de la organización. Se entiende que este artículo contribuye a los debates sobre las relaciones entre el modelo de negocio y la estrategia, incluyendo el contexto de la transformación digital como un elemento más.As transformações tecnológicas vivenciadas nos últimos anos têm ampliado às discussões acerca do impacto das tecnologias sobre a sociedade de modo geral e sobre as organizações. Partindo desse contexto, o objetivo do artigo foi analisar as relações entre os construtos transformação digital, modelo de negócios, estratégia organizacional e capacidades dinâmicas, bem como a inserção desses na temática da inovação. Trata-se de ensaio teórico construído a partir da análise de publicações consolidadas e discussões recentes que abordam as temáticas de modelo de negócios, estratégia e transformação digital. Os resultados apontam uma estreita relação entre as temáticas, sendo que a busca por novos modelos de negócios, a transformação digital e a adoção de estratégias específicas por parte das organizações são identificadas como formas de gerar valor para os clientes, fomentar a inovação e, em última instância, criar vantagem competitiva sustentável para as organizações. Conclui-se que, não obstante o objetivo comum, a condução setorizada dessas temáticas no contexto organizacional pode ser prejudicial para o alcance dos objetivos organizacional.
