Neuroscience and education: a mapping of influences, connections and challenges for teaching-learning

Resumo: | Neuroscientific studies, especially in the area of cognition, have important contributions to the teaching-learning process, which makes it necessary to develop investigations that focus on the connections between neurological and pedagogical knowledge. Thus, this work presents an integrative bibliographical review of scientific articles that show the importance of neuroscience in the efficiency of educational processes. The data search was performed in Google Scholar, while the analysis followed the mapping guidelines proposed by Biembengut. A total of 12 articles were mapped, produced between 2003-2017, which demonstrate a historical course of neuroscience (discoveries, applications and limitations), as well as the various contributions of this area to the foundation of more efficient methodologies of teaching, as well as, the importance of the implementation of curricular components with the neural bases of learning, within teacher training courses. The research reveals, therefore, the potentiality of neuroscience as facilitator of the teaching-learning process, which is not effectively implemented, possibly due to the epistemological difficulties in attuning neurobiology and education. |

Por tanto, este trabajo presenta una revisión bibliográfica integradora de artículos científicos que muestran la importancia de la neurociencia en la eficiencia de los procesos educativos. La búsqueda de datos se realizó en Google Scholar, mientras que el análisis siguió las pautas de mapeo propuestas por Biembengut. Se mapearon un total de 12 artículos, producidos entre 2003-2017, que demuestran un curso histórico de la neurociencia (descubrimientos, aplicaciones y limitaciones), así como las diversas contribuciones de esta área a la fundación de metodologías de enseñanza más eficientes, así como, la importancia de implementar componentes curriculares con las bases neurales del aprendizaje, dentro de los cursos de formación docente. Por tanto, la investigación revela el potencial de la neurociencia como facilitadora del proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje, que no se implementa de manera efectiva, posiblemente debido a las dificultades epistemológicas para sintonizar la neurobiología y la educación.Estudos neurociêntíficos, especialmente na área de cognição, possuem importantes contribuições para o processo de ensino-aprendizagem, o que torna necessário o desenvolvimento de investigações que se debrucem nas conexões entre os saberes neurológicos e pedagógicos. Sendo assim, este trabalho apresenta uma revisão bibliográfica integrativa de artigos científicos que mostram a importância da neurociência na eficiência dos processos educacionais. A busca de dados foi realizada no Google Scholar, enquanto a análise seguiu as diretrizes de mapeamento propostas por Biembengut. Um total de 12 artigos foram mapeados, produzidos entre 2003-2017, os quais demonstram um percurso histórico da neurociência (descobertas, aplicações e limitações), bem como, as várias contribuições desta área para o embasamento de metodologias mais eficientes de ensino, bem como, a importância da implementação de componentes curriculares com as bases neurais do aprendizado, dentro dos cursos de formação de professores.
