The importance of Didactic Sequence (SD) in Environmental Education: an experience report at the Monsenhor Boson Full-Time Education Center

Resumo: This paper aims to discuss Environmental Education (EE), in an interdisciplinary context, emphasizing its importance in building a more sustainable, healthy and responsible society, stimulating the student's environmental awareness and citizenship. The study was carried out with 50 students from two classes of 3rd year of High School, from the Full Time Education Center - CETI Monsenhor Boson, in Água Branca-PI. To this end, a Didactic Sequence (SD) was carried out, in six stages (pre-test application; sensitization classes; making crafts using recycled materials; preparing menus reusing food scraps; culmination of the works, and; application of the post- test). The results of the research showed that the works developed during DS provided significant learning, evidenced by the improvement in the number of correct answers in the post-test (86%), in relation to the pre-test (58%), as well as by conceptions and attitudes presented by the students. It was noticed the students' engagement in the realization of DS, allowing the reflection of the need to preserve the environment, possibly making them, more aware subjects about the importance of the environment, so that they can put into practice some acquired knowledge. Thus, the use of DS was important in the teaching of Environmental Education, for citizen awareness, since this must be a continuous process, and must be constantly addressed in the school environment.

El estudio se realizó con 50 estudiantes de dos clases de 3er año de secundaria, del Centro de Educación a Tiempo Completo - CETI Monsenhor Boson, en Água Branca-PI. Con este fin, se llevó a cabo una Secuencia Didáctica (SD), en seis etapas (aplicación previa a la prueba; clases de sensibilización; elaboración de manualidades con materiales reciclados; preparación de menús reutilizando restos de comida; culminación de los trabajos y; aplicación del post- prueba). Los resultados de la investigación mostraron que los trabajos desarrollados durante el SD proporcionaron un aprendizaje significativo, evidenciado por la mejora en el número de respuestas correctas en la prueba posterior (86%), en relación con la prueba previa (58%), así como por las concepciones y actitudes presentado por los alumnos. Se notó la participación de los estudiantes en la realización del SD, lo que permite la reflexión de la necesidad de preservar el medio ambiente, posiblemente haciéndolos sujetos más conscientes sobre la importancia del medio ambiente, para que puedan poner en práctica algunos conocimientos adquiridos. Por lo tanto, el uso de DS fue importante en la enseñanza de la Educación Ambiental, para la conciencia ciudadana, ya que este debe ser un proceso continuo y debe abordarse constantemente en el entorno escolar.O presente trabalho tem como objetivo discutir a Educação Ambiental (EA), num contexto interdisciplinar, enfatizando sua importância na construção de uma sociedade mais sustentável, saudável e responsável, estimulando no aluno a consciência ambiental e a cidadania. O estudo foi realizado com 50 alunos de duas turmas de 3º ano do Ensino Médio, do Centro de Educação de Tempo Integral - CETI Monsenhor Boson, em Água Branca-PI. Para tanto, foi realizada uma Sequência Didática (SD), em seis etapas (aplicação de pré-teste; aulas de sensibilização; confecção de artesanatos com materiais reciclados; preparo de cardápios reaproveitando sobras alimentares; culminância dos trabalhos, e; aplicação do pós-teste). Os resultados da pesquisa demonstraram que os trabalhos desenvolvidos, durante a SD proporcionaram aprendizagem significativa, evidenciada pela melhora no número de acertos do pós-teste (86%), em relação ao pré-teste (58%), bem como por concepções e atitudes apresentadas pelos discentes. Percebeu-se o engajamento dos alunos na realização da SD, possibilitando a reflexão da necessidade de preservar o meio ambiente, possivelmente tornando-os, sujeitos mais conscientes sobre a importância do meio ambiente, de modo que eles possam colocar em prática alguns conhecimentos adquiridos.
