Scientific Literacy: A proposal for meaningful learning from reading of the science fiction literary genre

Resumo: This article makes a discussion about a scientific investigation of the contributions of reading of the science fiction literary genre in the scientific literacy construction of integrated high school students. In this study, it was tried to do an analogy between the reflective reading of science fiction stories by the author Isaac Asimov and the social function of science in modern times, based on the fundamentals of meaningful learning by David Ausubel, of the Science, Technology and Society (STS) movement and the Professional and Technological Education (PTE). The application of the intervention proposal as a contributing element to the achievement of the proposed objectives is highlighted in the results. For this, from a qualitative approach to the data, an action research was adopted as a methodological way. Application of an intervention proposal in this study was stood out as a contributing element to the achievement of the proposed objectives. The results revealed, therefore, the importance of this pedagogic tool for the construction of scientific literacy of students in the initial years of integrated education.

En este estudio, se buscó hacer una analogía entre la lectura de los cuentos de ciencia ficción del autor Isaac Asimov y la función social de la ciencia en la contemporaneidad, a partir de los fundamentos del aprendizaje significativo de David Ausubel, del movimiento Ciencia Tecnología y Sociedad. (CTS) y Educación Profesional y Tecnológica (EPT). Para tanto, a partir de un abordaje cualitativo de los datos, se adoptó como abordaje metodológico una investigación-acción. La aplicación de una propuesta de intervención en este estudio, se destacó como elemento contribuyente para alcanzar los objetivos propuestos. Los resultados revelaron, por lo tanto, la importancia de este instrumento pedagógico para la construcción de la alfabetización científica de los estudiantes de los primeros años de la enseñanza media integrada.O artigo faz uma discussão a respeito de uma investigação científica em torno das contribuições da leitura do gênero literário ficção científica na construção do letramento científico de estudantes do ensino médio integrado. Nesse estudo, buscou-se realizar uma analogia entre a leitura dos contos de ficção científica do autor Isaac Asimov e a função social da ciência na contemporaneidade, tendo como base os fundamentos da aprendizagem significativa de David Ausubel, do movimento Ciência Tecnologia e Sociedade (CTS) e da Educação Profissional e Tecnológica (EPT). Para tanto, a partir de uma abordagem qualitativa dos dados, adotou-se uma pesquisa-ação como percurso metodológico. A aplicação de uma proposta de intervenção nesse estudo, destacou-se como elemento contribuinte para o alcance dos objetivos propostos.
