Reflection on interdisciplinarity in promoting the mental health of teachers in higher education

Resumo: | Objective: To reflect on the interdisciplinarity in the promotion of teachers' mental health and the challenges faced in the teaching practice of higher education. Methodology: Bibliographic research with searches in the bases: Scientific Electronic Library Online; Virtual Health Library (BVS) and on the World Health Organization website. Results: Health Promotion is essential for students to be able to develop skills and abilities to deal with these contemporary challenges as future professionals. Therefore, there is a need to train higher education institutions with personal, social, strategic, creative, critical and leadership skills, aiming at the ability to make decisions with assertive behaviors. Discussion: Mental health, given its breadth, allows the development of social identity and autonomy in life. The provision of services by various professionals in health and education institutions is evident in everyday life, thus promoting the distribution of multiple functions and professions. Final considerations: The need to promote continuing education actions focused on promoting health education in higher education is perceptible. As well, it is essential that interdisciplinary projects are created that favor the continuous integration between education and health, in order to promote quality of life, especially with a focus on mental health. |

Metodología: Investigación bibliográfica con búsquedas en las bases: Scientific Electronic Library Online; Biblioteca Virtual en Salud (BVS) y en el sitio web de la Organización Mundial de la Salud. Resultados: La Promoción de la Salud es fundamental para que los estudiantes puedan desarrollar habilidades y destrezas para enfrentar estos desafíos contemporáneos como futuros profesionales. Por lo tanto, existe la necesidad de formar instituciones de educación superior con habilidades personales, sociales, estratégicas, creativas, críticas y de liderazgo, buscando la capacidad de tomar decisiones con comportamientos asertivos. Discusión: La salud mental, dada su amplitud, permite el desarrollo de la identidad social y la autonomía en la vida. La prestación de servicios por parte de diversos profesionales en las instituciones de salud y educación se evidencia en el cotidiano, favoreciendo así la distribución de múltiples funciones y profesiones. Consideraciones finales: Se percibe la necesidad de impulsar acciones de educación continua enfocadas a promover la educación para la salud en la educación superior. Asimismo, es fundamental que se generen proyectos interdisciplinarios que favorezcan la integración continua entre educación y salud, con el fin de promover la calidad de vida, especialmente con enfoque en la salud mental.Objetivo: refletir sobre a interdisciplinaridade na promoção da saúde mental de professores e os desafios enfrentados na prática docente da educação superior. Metodologia: pesquisa bibliográfica com buscas nas bases: Scientific Eletronic Libray Online; Biblioteca Virtual de Saúde e no site da Organização Mundial de Saúde. Resultados: a promoção da saúde é imprescindível para que os estudantes sejam capazes de desenvolver competências e habilidades para lidar com estes desafios na contemporaneidade como futuros profissionais. Assim, surge a necessidade de capacitação das Instituições de Ensino Superior com competências pessoais, sociais, estratégicas, criativas, críticas e de liderança, objetivando a capacidade para a tomada de decisão com comportamentos assertivos. Discussão: a saúde mental, diante da sua amplitude, permite o desenvolvimento da identidade social e da autonomia da vida. A prestação de serviços por diversos profissionais nas instituições de saúde e de educação é evidente no cotidiano, promovendo a distribuição de múltiplas funções e profissões.
