Resumo: Objective: To assess the perception of academics after the easing of mandatory mask use, as well as to identify the safety and insecurities that nursing students feel with this change, after a long period of use of the face mask in the prevention of contamination by the virus. of SARS-CoV-2. Methodology: This is a mixed methods study, carried out in a private institution in southern Brazil. For data collection, a sociodemographic questionnaire and a semi-structured questionnaire were applied to a target population of 50 nursing students. Data production took place through a semi-structured interview from July to August 2022. Data were entered into a spreadsheet in the Microsoft Office Excel 2019 program and analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. Results: There was a greater predominance of females with a mean age of 18 to 39 years, it was identified that most participants still do not feel comfortable circulating without the use of the mask. Conclusion: It was possible to conclude that despite the flexibilization of the use of masks in Brazil and in the world and even after the advancement of vaccinations, at this current moment of the pandemic, many academics are still afraid of returning to the streets and other spaces without the use of the mask. face mask. This is because the transmission of COVID-19 occurs mainly through the air and over short distances.

Metodología: Este es un estudio de métodos mixtos, realizado en una institución privada en el sur de Brasil. Para la recolección de datos se aplicó un cuestionario sociodemográfico y un cuestionario semiestructurado a una población objetivo de 50 estudiantes de enfermería. La producción de datos se realizó a través de una entrevista semiestructurada de julio a agosto de 2022. Los datos se ingresaron en una hoja de cálculo en el programa Microsoft Office Excel 2019 y se analizaron mediante estadística descriptiva e inferencial. Resultados: Hubo mayor predominio del sexo femenino con una edad media de 18 a 39 años, se identificó que la mayoría de los participantes aún no se sienten cómodos circulando sin el uso de la mascarilla. Conclusión: fue posible concluir que a pesar de la flexibilización del uso de mascarillas en Brasil y en el mundo e incluso después del avance de las vacunas, en este momento actual de la pandemia, muchos académicos todavía tienen miedo de volver a las calles y otras espacios sin el uso de la mascarilla. Esto se debe a que la transmisión del COVID-19 se dá principalmente por vía aérea y en distancias cortas.Objetivo: Avaliar a percepção dos acadêmicos após a flexibilização do uso obrigatório de máscara, bem como, identificar a segurança e as inseguranças que os acadêmicos de enfermagem sentem com essa mudança, após um longo período de uso da máscara facial na prevenção da contaminação pelo vírus da SARS- CoV-2. Metodologia: Trata-se de um estudo de método mistos, realizada em uma instituição privada do Sul do Brasil. Para a coleta de dados foram aplicados um questionário sociodemográfico e um questionário semi-estruturado, em uma população alvo de 50 acadêmicos de enfermagem. A produção de dados ocorreu por meio de entrevista semiestruturada no período julho a agosto de 2022. Os dados foram digitados em planilha no programa Microsoft Office Excel 2019 e analisados por estatística descritiva e inferencial. Resultados: Observou-se maior predominância do sexo feminino com média de idade de 18 a 39 anos, identificou-se que a maioria dos participantes ainda não se sentem à vontade em circular sem o uso da máscara. Conclusão:  Foi possível concluir que apesar da flexibilização do uso de máscaras no Brasil e no mundo e mesmo após o avanço das vacinações, neste atual momento da pandemia, muitos acadêmicos ainda estão receosos de voltarem a circular nas ruas e outros espaços sem o uso da máscara facial.
