Academic maturity: a question of paradigma shift

Resumo: The objective of this study was to reflect on the central pillars of the theories of the philosopher Thomas Kuhn, about the process of scientific revolutions and its relationship with the process of academic maturity. For this study, the authors intend to carry out a reflective study, of a descriptive and qualitative nature, recorded in book "A Estrutura das Revoluções Científicas", by Kuhn's authorship. In addition, it is reflecting on the experiences of two authors who are guiding-counseling, and also, as educators, they do not teach illness since graduation, or doctorate. The reflections presented in this study showed that academic maturity has a relationship with the movement in what Kuhn calls a scientific revolution based on the following phases: pre-paradigmatic; normal science; crisis / revolution, new normal science and new crisis / revolution, demonstrating the approximation of these phases of the theory, with the academic experience, bringing possible answers about the relationships resulting from the personal / educational maturation. From the reflection, it was possible to conclude that, the propositions of the aforementioned philosopher, helps us to understand that for academic maturity to occur, these need to fit in a sequential and cyclical way, however, this maturity depends on the degree of the student's relationship and educator and the educator-advisor's view of their role in the educational process.

Para este estudio, los autores propusieron realizar un estudio reflexivo, descriptivo y cualitativo, anclado en el libro "La estructura de las revoluciones científicas", de Kuhn. Además, esta reflexión se basó en las experiencias de los autores durante la orientación - asesor, y también, como educadores en educación de enfermería desde pregrado hasta doctorado. Las reflexiones presentadas en este estudio señalaron que la madurez académica tiene una relación con el movimiento en lo que Kuhn llama una revolución científica basada en las siguientes fases: pre-paradigmática; ciencia normal; crisis / revolución, nueva ciencia normal y nueva crisis / revolución, demostrando la aproximación de estas fases de la teoría, con la experiencia académica, aportando posibles respuestas sobre las relaciones resultantes de la maduración personal / educative. A partir de la reflexión, fue posible concluir que, las proposiciones del filósofo referido, nos ayudan a comprender que para que ocurra la madurez académica, estas deben ajustarse de manera secuencial y cíclica, sin embargo, esta madurez depende del grado de la relación del estudiante y El educador y la visión del educador-asesor sobre su papel en el proceso educativo.Objetivou-se com este estudo refletir sobre os pilares centrais das teorias do filósofo Thomas Kuhn, acerca do processo das revoluções científicas e sua relação com o processo de maturidade acadêmica. Para este estudo, os autores se propôs  realizar um estudo reflexivo, de cunho descritivo e qualitativo, ancorado no livro “A Estrutura das Revoluções Científicas”, de autoria de Kuhn. Ademais, está reflexão contou com as vivências dos autores enquanto orientando–orientador, e também, como educadores no ensino da enfermagem desde a graduação até o doutorado. As reflexões apresentadas neste estudo apontaram que, a maturidade acadêmica, possui uma relação com o movimento no que Kuhn denomina de revolução científica pautados nas seguintes fases: pré-paradigmática; ciência normal; crise/revolução, nova ciência normal e nova crise/revolução, demonstrando a aproximação destas fases da teoria, com o vivenciar acadêmico, trazendo possíveis respostas acerca das relações decorrentes do amadurecimento pessoal/educacional.
