Exchanging ideas: the coexistence between peers in AEE rooms for High Skills and Giftedness

Resumo: This article presents the results of an exploratory research, of the case study type, and aimed to understand how relationships between students with High Abilities/Giftedness are built, from the participants' point of view. The context in which the research was developed was a Resource Room of a municipal public school in Porto Alegre (RS), which offers Specialized Educational Assistance (AH/SD) to students with Abilities/Giftedness (AH/SD). The instruments used were direct observation and a questionnaire applied to six students, aged between 10 and 15 years. The analysis of the study data allowed us to identify certain perceptions, behaviors and feelings that are associated with the coexistence of these adolescents in the AEE. The following stood out: mutual support, partnership, raising self-esteem, common interests, acceptance of their characteristics. It was concluded that this service is very important for those students because, according to them, from these interactions they got to know each other better and feel more secure and confident.

El contexto en que se desarrolló la investigación fue una Sala de Recursos de una escuela pública municipal de Porto Alegre (RS), que ofrece Asistencia Educativa Especializada (AH/SD) a alumnos con Habilidades/Superdotación (AH/SD). Los instrumentos utilizados fueron la observación directa y un cuestionario aplicado a seis estudiantes, con edades comprendidas entre los 10 y 15 años. El análisis de los datos del estudio permitió identificar ciertas percepciones, conductas y sentimientos que se asocian a la convivencia de estos adolescentes en la AEE. Se destacaron: apoyo mutuo, compañerismo, elevación de la autoestima, intereses comunes, aceptación de sus características. Se concluyó que este servicio es muy importante para esos estudiantes porque, según ellos, a partir de estas interacciones se conocieron mejor y se sintieron más seguros y confiados.   O presente artigo apresenta os resultados de uma pesquisa exploratória, do tipo estudo de caso, e teve como objetivo compreender como são construídas as relações entre os alunos com Altas Habilidades/Superdotação, do ponto de vista dos participantes. O contexto em que se desenvolveu a pesquisa foi uma Sala de Recursos de uma escola pública municipal de Porto Alegre (RS), que oferece Atendimento Educacional Especializado (AH/SD) aos estudantes com Habilidades/Superdotação (AH/SD). Os instrumentos utilizados foram a observação direta e um questionário aplicado a seis alunos, com idades entre 10 e 15 anos. A análise dos dados do estudo permitiu identificar determinadas percepções, comportamentos e sentimentos que estão associados ao convívio desses adolescentes no AEE. Destacaram-se: o apoio mútuo, a parceria, a elevação da autoestima, os interesses em comum, a aceitação de suas características.
