The student experience in health education in extramural university spaces

Resumo: | The institution of the Unified Health System (SUS), in 1988, demanded a new model of health promotion, which requires a different profile in the education of health professionals through the commitment to SUS principles and guidelines and to care beyond of the pathological process. SUS becomes a guiding principle in the education of health professionals, which requires higher education institutions to return to health training in order to be committed to the socio-health reality. This study aims to evaluate the student experience in the extramural experience provided by the discipline Health and Citizenship (SACI). This is a qualitative, exploratory-descriptive study based on focus groups submitted to the content analysis technique with the aid of the IRAMUTEQ software. The students' speeches emerged from sensitive experiences that recognized the relevance of comprehensive care and teamwork for a broader assistance to the population. It is concluded that through transformations in the curricular structures guided by the principles of the Unified Health System, they allow experiences such as SACI to integrate the training of health professionals and contribute to a change in health practice. |

El SUS se convierte en el principio rector en la formación de los profesionales de la salud, lo que exige que las instituciones de educación superior vuelvan a la formación en salud para estar comprometidas con la realidad socio-sanitaria. Este estudio tiene como objetivo evaluar la experiencia del estudiante en la experiencia extramuros que brinda la disciplina Salud y Ciudadanía (SACI). Se trata de un estudio cualitativo, exploratorio-descriptivo basado en grupos focales sometidos a la técnica de análisis de contenido con la ayuda del software IRAMUTEQ. Los discursos de los estudiantes surgieron de experiencias sensibles que reconocieron la relevancia de la atención integral y el trabajo en equipo para una asistencia más amplia a la población. Se concluye que a través de transformaciones en las estructuras curriculares guiadas por los principios del Sistema Único de Salud, permiten que experiencias como la SACI integren la formación de los profesionales de la salud y contribuyan a un cambio en la práctica de la salud.A instituição do Sistema Único de Saúde (SUS), em 1988, demandou um novo modelo de promoção à saúde, o que exige um perfil diferenciado na educação dos profissionais de saúde através do compromisso com os princípios e diretrizes do SUS e com o cuidado além do processo patológico. O SUS passa a ser norteador na educação dos profissionais de saúde, o que exige das instituições de ensino superior voltar a formação em saúde para o compromisso com a realidade sócio-sanitária. Este estudo tem como objetivo avaliar a experiência discente na vivência extramuros proporcionadas pela disciplina Saúde e Cidadania (SACI). Trata-se de um estudo qualitativo do tipo exploratório-descritivo a partir de grupos focais submetidos à técnica de análise de conteúdo com auxílio do software IRAMUTEQ. Os discursos dos discentes emergiram de experiências sensíveis e reconhecedoras da relevância da integralidade do cuidado e do trabalho em equipe para uma assistência mais ampla a população.
