Reflections on the access of deaf students in Higher Education: a trajectory of victories and challenges

Resumo: | The access of deaf students, in technical and higher education, is undoubtedly a great victory to be celebrated. However, there are challenges to be overcome and overcome by students, institutions, and professionals involved in this process are at all times. Thinking about inclusion is something much wider than the initial moment that includes the entrance of the deaf student, we believe it is necessary to go further, the instructions and professionals involved need to seek facilitating mechanisms to ensure not only access, but the permanence of these students to complete the course to which they entered. Thus, this article aims to reflect on the access, permanence and conclusion of deaf students in higher education in order to identify favorable means in this process for them to succeed. In the end, we intend with this study to identify what are the challenges to be overcome by the subject of this work and what are the possible and feasible ways for deaf people to succeed in their process of educational inclusion in higher education. |

No obstante, alumnos, instituciones y profesionales, que se involucran en este proceso, todo el tiempo tienen que superar y vencer desafíos. Pensar la inclusión es algo mucho más amplio que el ingreso del alumno sordo, pues creemos que se necesita ir más allá. Las instituciones y los profesionales que se involucran necesitan buscar mecanismos facilitadores que garanticen no solo el acceso, sino también la permanencia de estos alumnos en la carrera elegida. Así, el presente artículo objetiva reflexionar sobre acceso, permanencia e inclusión de alumnos sordos en la educación superior, a fin de identificar medios favorables en este proceso, de modo que haya logros. Al fin y al cabo, esperamos que con este estudio identifiquemos cuáles son los desafíos que el sujeto mencionado necesita superar y cuáles son los caminos posibles y viables para que los sordos obtengan logros en su proceso de inclusión educacional en la educación superior.O acesso de alunos surdos, no ensino técnico e superior, é sem dúvida, uma grande vitória a ser comemorada. No entanto, existem desafios a serem superados e vencidos pelos alunos, instituições, e profissionais envolvidos nesse processo são a todo o momento. Pensar em inclusão é algo bem mais amplo que o momento inicial que compreende a entrada do aluno surdo, acreditamos que se faz necessário ir mais além, as instruções e profissionais envolvidos precisam a buscar mecanismos facilitadores afim garantir não apenas o acesso, mas a permanência destes alunos para que os mesmos concluam o curso ao qual ingressaram. Desse modo, o presente artigo tem por objetivo, refletir sobre o acesso, permanência e conclusão de alunos com surdez no ensino superior afim de identificar meios favoráveis neste processo para que eles obtenham sucesso.
