Science in the final years of Elementary School: a look at Physics teaching

Resumo: This paper discusses a methodological proposal for physics teaching in the final years of elementary school.  Based on a literature review on the subject, it is observed that the teaching of sciences for the final years of elementary school prioritizes topics related to the area of Biology, with the predominance of the teacher in the area of Biological Sciences as the responsible for the discipline of sciences in the final years of elementary school.  Thus, the curricular proposal that is presented builds the teaching of sciences as an interrelationship between Physics, Chemistry and Biology, each subject being governed by an expert in each area.  Under the section of physics teaching, the teaching work developed by the regent of the discipline is described, including the choices of themes, activities and composition of didactic material for sixth and seventh year classes of elementary school.  Through action research, information was collected about the development of students in the knowledge of physics and its relationship with daily life.  With content analysis, it was possible to infer about the contribution that the experiences and discussions provided by the physical phenomena studied during the school year promoted in the view of Physics as science, in addition to its role in the formation of students in the final years of elementary school.

Enseñanza de FísicaAños Finales de la Escuela PrimariaFenómenos físicos.Physics TeachingFinal Years of Elementary SchoolPhysical phenomena.This paper discusses a methodological proposal for physics teaching in the final years of elementary school.  Based on a literature review on the subject, it is observed that the teaching of sciences for the final years of elementary school prioritizes topics related to the area of Biology, with the predominance of the teacher in the area of Biological Sciences as the responsible for the discipline of sciences in the final years of elementary school.  Thus, the curricular proposal that is presented builds the teaching of sciences as an interrelationship between Physics, Chemistry and Biology, each subject being governed by an expert in each area.  Under the section of physics teaching, the teaching work developed by the regent of the discipline is described, including the choices of themes, activities and composition of didactic material for sixth and seventh year classes of elementary school.  Through action research, information was collected about the development of students in the knowledge of physics and its relationship with daily life.  With content analysis, it was possible to infer about the contribution that the experiences and discussions provided by the physical phenomena studied during the school year promoted in the view of Physics as science, in addition to its role in the formation of students in the final years of elementary school.Este artículo analiza una propuesta metodológica para la enseñanza de la física en los últimos años de la escuela primaria.  Sobre la base de una revisión bibliográfica sobre el tema, se observa que la enseñanza de las ciencias para los últimos años de la escuela primaria prioriza temas relacionados con el área de Biología, con el predominio del profesor en el área de Ciencias Biológicas como responsable de la disciplina de las ciencias en los últimos años de la escuela primaria.  Así, la propuesta curricular que se presenta construye la enseñanza de las ciencias como una interrelación entre Física, Química y Biología, cada materia está gobernada por un experto en cada área.  Bajo la sección de la enseñanza de la física, se describe el trabajo docente desarrollado por el regente de la disciplina, incluyendo las opciones de temas, actividades y composición de material didáctico para las clases de sexto y séptimo año de la escuela primaria.  A través de la investigación de acción, se recopiló información sobre el desarrollo de los estudiantes en el conocimiento de la física y su relación con la vida cotidiana.  Con el análisis de contenidos, fue posible inferir sobre la contribución que las experiencias y discusiones proporcionadas por los fenómenos físicos estudiados durante el año escolar promovieron en la visión de la Física como ciencia, además de su papel en la formación de los estudiantes en los últimos años de la escuela primaria.O presente trabalho discute uma proposta metodológica para o ensino de Física nos anos finais do ensino fundamental.  Baseados em uma revisão de literatura sobre o tema, constata-se que o ensino de ciências para os anos finais do ensino fundamental prioriza temas relacionados a área de Biologia, predominando-se, também, o docente na área de Ciências Biológicas como o responsável pela disciplina de ciências nos anos finais do ensino fundamental.  Desta forma, a proposta curricular que se apresenta constrói o ensino de ciências como uma interrelação entre Física, Química e Biologia, cada assunto sendo regido por um especialista em cada área.  Sob o recorte do ensino de Física, descreve-se o trabalho docente desenvolvido pelo regente da disciplina, incluindo as escolhas de temas, atividades e composição do material didático para turmas de sexto e sétimo ano do ensino fundamental.  Através da pesquisa-ação, coletou-se informações a respeito do desenvolvimento dos estudantes no conhecimento da Física e a relação desta com o cotidiano.  Com a análise de conteúdo, foi possível inferir sobre a contribuição que as vivências e discussões proporcionadas pelos fenômenos físicos estudados durante o ano letivo promoveram na visão da Física enquanto Ciência, além do seu papel na formação dos estudantes dos anos finais do ensino fundamental.Research, Society and Development2020-12-06info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/article/view/1042210.33448/rsd-v9i11.10422Research, Society and Development;
