Inclusion of food and nutrition education in school curricula

Resumo: This study aimed to investigate and analyze the needs and capacities of the public school system of Porto Alegre for the application of Law nº 13.666 / 2018. A descriptive cross-sectional design was used. A total of 114 elementary school teachers answered a qualitative questionnaire, through Web 2.0, composed of 14 closed questions. The main results were: i) most participants apply Food and Nutrition Education (EAN); ii) there is an association between the application of the EAN and the area of initial training, insufficient knowledge and the teacher's view of the relationship between the EAN and the subject taught; iii) low training in EAN; iv) the need for the management body to be involved; v) recognition of the EAN (91.2% answered that this is not a barrier). It is concluded that, despite the presence of barriers in the teaching area, a mark of disciplinary fragmentation, an emphasis was given to the role of the managing body in this process application of Law nº 13.666 / 2018.

Se utilizó un diseño descriptivo de corte transversal. Un total de 114 docentes de educación básica respondieron un cuestionario cualitativo, a través de la Web 2.0, compuesto por 14 preguntas cerradas. Los principales resultados fueron: i) la mayoría de los participantes aplica Educación Alimentaria y Nutricional (EAN); ii) existe una asociación entre la aplicación de la EAN y el área de formación inicial, el conocimiento insuficiente y la visión del docente sobre la relación entre la EAN y la disciplina enseñada; iii) baja formación en EAN; iv) la necesidad de participación del órgano de dirección; v) reconocimiento de la EAN (91,2% respondió que esto no es una barrera). Se concluye que, a pesar de la presencia de barreras de naturaleza del ámbito docente, una marca de fragmentación disciplinar, se hizo hincapié en el papel del órgano de gestión en este proceso aplicación de la Ley nº 13.666 / 2018.Este estudo objetivou investigar e analisar as necessidades e capacidades da rede pública de ensino de Porto Alegre para a aplicação da Lei nº 13.666/2018. Utilizou-se um design descritivo de corte transversal. Um total de 114 professores do Ensino Fundamental responderam um questionário qualitativo, por meio da Web 2.0, composto por 14 questões fechadas. Os principais resultados foram: i) a maioria dos participantes aplica a Educação Alimentar e Nutricional (EAN); ii) existe associação entre a aplicação da EAN e a área de formação inicial, o saber insuficiente e a visão do professor sobre a relação da EAN e a disciplina lecionada; iii) baixa capacitação em EAN; iv) necessidade de envolvimento do órgão gestor; v) reconhecimento da EAN (91,2% responderam que essa não é uma barreira).
