Thematic trends in monographs and the initial training proposal for a degree Course in Chemistry

Resumo: | This research aims to identify tendencies in the themes of the monographs presented by undergraduate Chemistry students at the Centro Universitário Norte do Espírito Santo, campus of the Federal University of Espírito Santo, between the periods from 2014 to 2018, analyzing them in the light of the course’s initial training proposal. Methodologically, the work was carried out by means of documentary analysis, configuring itself as a quali-quantitative research of a descriptive nature. To obtain the data, 25 monographs, the Pedagogical Project for the Chemistry course, the course curriculum and course menus were analyzed. The results show that 64% of the monographs fit in the category of Science / Chemistry Education with emphasis on the thematic line of “processes, resources and educational materials” presenting the largest number of works produced. The remaining 36% are works that follow the category of Scientific Research in the area of Chemistry, highlighting the “Organic Chemistry” area in quantity of production. When analyzing the tendencies of the monographs, it was found that they are aligned with the initial training proposal foreseen for the course. It is understood that the tendencies of monographic productions have their aspects rooted in the culture and also reflect the characteristics of the initial training received by graduates. |

Metodológicamente, el trabajo se llevó a cabo mediante análisis documental, configurándose como una investigación cualitativo-cuantitativa de carácter descriptivo. Para la obtención de los datos se analizaron 25 monografías, el Proyecto Pedagógico del Curso de Química, el currículo del curso y los menús del curso. Los resultados muestran que el 64% de las monografías pertenecen a la linea temática de Educación en Ciencias / Química, con énfasis en la subcategoría de “procesos, recursos y materiales educativos” que presenta el mayor número de trabajos producidos. El 36% restante son trabajos que siguen la categoría de Investigación Científica en el área de Química, destacando la área “Química Orgánica” en cuanto a cantidad de producción. Al analizar las tendencias de las monografías, se encontró que están alineadas con la propuesta de formación inicial prevista para el curso. Se entiende que las tendencias de las producciones monográficas tienen sus aspectos arraigados en la cultura del curso y que reflejan las características de la formación inicial obtenida por los estudiantes.Esta pesquisa busca identificar as tendências dos temas das monografias apresentadas pelos licenciandos em Química do Centro Universitário Norte do Espírito Santo, campus da Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, entre os períodos de 2014 a 2018, analisando-as à luz da proposta de formação inicial do curso. Metodologicamente, o trabalho realizou-se por meio de análise documental, configurando-se como uma pesquisa quali-quantitativa de cunho descritivo. Para obtenção dos dados, foram analisadas 25 monografias, o Projeto Pedagógico do curso de Química, o currículo do curso e ementas das disciplinas. Os resultados apontam que 64% das monografias se enquadram na categoria de Educação em Ciências/Química com destaque para a linha temática de “processos, recursos e materiais educativos” apresentando o maior número de trabalhos produzidos. Os outros 36% são trabalhos que seguem a categoria de Pesquisa Científica na área da Química, sobressaindo a área “Química Orgânica” em quantidade de produção. Quando analisadas as tendências das monografias, verificou-se que estão alinhadas com a proposta de formação inicial previstas para o curso.
