Analysis of articles published in the Web of Science on consumer behavior in the online environment

Resumo: This article aimed to characterize the scientific publications that address about the topic of consumer behavior in the online environment from a bibliometric and content analysis through the articles present in the Web of Science database in period from 1998 to 2022. For that, research was carried out with a quantitative approach, with the exact search term consumer behavior online, with 365 publications being located. Subsequently, a content analysis was performed, with a qualitative approach, using the IRaMuTeq software, with the translated versions of the abstracts of the articles generated from the 10 of the most cited articles in the bibliometric analysis. In order to explore the related terms in the publications, the software provided statistical information from the text, as well as the Descending Hierarchical Classification (CHD), similarity analysis and the word cloud. The results of the analyzes carried out showed that the year with the highest number of scientific publications on the subject was in 2020, the theme has an interdisciplinary scope in several segments, in addition, the abstracts of the most cited articles presented references inherent to the theme, with the predominance of of the word online, information and consumer.

Posteriormente, se realizó un análisis de contenido, con enfoque cualitativo, utilizando el software IRaMuTeq, con versiones traducidas de los resúmenes de los artículos generados a partir de los 10 artículos más citados en el análisis bibliométrico. Con el objetivo de explorar los términos relacionados en las publicaciones, el software proporcionó información estadística del texto, así como la Clasificación Jerárquica Descendente (CHD), análisis de similitud y la nube de palabras. Los resultados de los análisis realizados mostraron que el año con mayor número de publicaciones científicas sobre el tema fue en 2020, el tema tiene un alcance interdisciplinario en varios segmentos, además, los resúmenes de los artículos más citados presentaron referencias inherentes a la temática, con predominio de la palabra online, información y consumidor.Este artigo teve como objetivo caracterizar as publicações científicas que abordam o tema comportamento do consumidor no ambiente online a partir de uma análise bibliométrica e de conteúdo por meio dos artigos presentes na base de dados Web of Science do período de 1998 a 2022. Para isso, foi realizada uma pesquisa com abordagem quantitativa, com o termo exato de busca consumer behavior online, sendo localizados 365 publicações. Posteriormente, foi realizada uma análise de conteúdo, com abordagem qualitativa, por meio do software IRaMuTeq, com as versões traduzidas dos resumos dos artigos gerados a partir dos 10 artigos mais citados da análise bibliométrica. Visando explorar os termos correlatos nas publicações, o software forneceu informações estatísticas do texto, assim como a Classificação Hierárquica Descendente (CHD), análise de similitude e a nuvem de palavras.
