Experimental laboratory and problem solving: building chemical knowledge

Resumo: This work develops an approach that involves aspects of interactions between teachers, students and the researcher, in the classroom and laboratory of Natural Sciences. It aims to bring relevant contributions to the teaching and learning of chemistry, as well as working with experimentation and problem solving in basic education. The research was implemented in three schools in greater Porto Alegre, RS and covered 5 classes of the 1st year of high school, during a time of 12 hours / class in each class. Problem solving and experimentation strategies were employed to foster reading, research and the collective construction of knowledge. Qualitative research was used, the data were produced by reflections in logbook, reading reports and transcription of audio recordings of the classes in which the work was implemented. The analysis of the results was performed according to the Bardin Content Analysis methodology. The data obtained indicated that several deficiencies render traditional experimental teaching inefficient and that Problem Solving can contribute to the structuring of practical activities. These activities enhance the interactivity of students, putting into practice cognitive skills (problem structuring, building strategies to solve problems, extrapolation of situations, etc.), meta-cognitive and social (group work, scientific enculturation, etc.).

Su objetivo es aportar contribuciones relevantes a la enseñanza y el aprendizaje de la química, así como trabajar con la experimentación y la resolución de problemas en la educación básica. La investigación se implementó en tres escuelas del gran Porto Alegre, RS y abarcó 5 clases del primer año de la escuela secundaria, durante un período de 12 horas / clase en cada clase. Se emplearon estrategias de resolución de problemas y experimentación para promover la lectura, la investigación y la construcción colectiva del conocimiento. Se utilizó investigación cualitativa, los datos se produjeron mediante reflexiones en el libro de registro, informes de lectura y transcripción de grabaciones de audio de las clases en las que se implementó el trabajo. El análisis de los resultados se realizó de acuerdo con la metodología de análisis de contenido de Bardin. Los datos obtenidos indicaron que varias deficiencias hacen que la enseñanza experimental tradicional sea ineficiente y que la resolución de problemas puede contribuir a la estructuración de actividades prácticas. Estas actividades aumentan la interactividad de los estudiantes, poniendo en práctica habilidades cognitivas (estructuración de problemas, estrategias de resolución de problemas, extrapolación de situaciones, etc.), metacognitivas y sociales (trabajo en grupo, enculturación científica, etc.). Neste trabalho desenvolve-se uma abordagem que envolve aspectos das interações entre professores, alunos e a pesquisadora, em sala de aula e laboratório de Ciências da Natureza. Tem por objetivo trazer contribuições relevantes para o Ensino e a Aprendizagem da Química, bem como trabalhar com a experimentação e a Resolução de Problemas na Educação Básica. A pesquisa foi implementada em três escolas da grande Porto Alegre, RS e abrangeu 5 turmas da 1º Ano do Ensino Médio, durante um tempo de 12 horas/aula em cada turma. Foram empregadas estratégias de Resolução de Problemas e experimentação fomentando a leitura, a investigação e a construção coletiva do conhecimento. Utilizou-se da pesquisa qualitativa, os dados foram produzidos por reflexões em diário de bordo, leitura de relatórios e a transcrição das gravações de áudio das aulas em que foi implementado o trabalho. A análise dos resultados foi realizada de acordo com a metodologia da Análise de Conteúdo de Bardin. Os dados obtidos indicaram que várias deficiências tornam o ensino experimental tradicional pouco eficiente e que a Resolução de Problemas pode contribuir para a estruturação das atividades práticas.
