Social Network Analysis: access to information on support for bereavement in the Brazilian virtual environment

This research aims to analyze the virtual network of access to information for people who seek support for bereavement in Brazil. This is a descriptive study, which, using data of free and public access, used the Google virtual search for data collection, with the aid of the Gephi software for the analysis. The data suggested that the virtual sources originated from the press had great centrality of degree, as well as private services as the most cited institutions. The Southeast region had 51.95% of the connections made, while the North region had only 1.96%. Through the Social Network Analysis (SNA) it was possible to verify that private institutions and NGOs showed great relevance to those seeking information about support for bereavement, as well as the importance of sources originating from the press as disseminators of information and online institutions with extreme importance in this type of service. Thus, the possibility of including the SNA approach as a practical and preponderant tool in supporting mental health planning is suggested.
