A VIEW AT THE MANAGEMENT OF THE INCLUSION OF STUDENTS WITH DISABILITIES IN BRAZILIAN HIGHER EDUCATION

Resumo: | This study aims to understand and analyze the academic production on the management of inclusion in Brazilian higher education, identifying the actions taken in institutions in order to provide the inclusion of students with disabilities. The bibliographic research, of an exploratory-descriptive nature, was carried out on the Portal of Scientific Journals of the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES) between May and June 2020, including articles published between 2011 and 2020. The analyzes were divided into two processes: bibliometric analysis and qualitative analysis. It was identified that the admission of students with disabilities in higher education has been growing annually, but there is still a long way to go in building an Inclusive Higher Education Institution. There are not only physical barriers, but also barriers with regard to the training of teachers to work with students with disabilities, the development of teaching materials, the provision of assisted technologies, the creation of specialized care centers and the development of inclusive educational policies specific to each HEI. The study leads to the conclusion that the access, permanence and completion of the course by students with disabilities in Brazilian higher education is still a field that needs to receive greater attention from researchers, and that it is necessary to think that the most urgent aspect to be transformed is not the architecture of institutions, but the mentality of professionals working in higher education, especially their managers. |

A pesquisa bibliográfica, de caráter exploratório-descritivo, foi realizada no Portal de Periódicos da Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior (CAPES) entre maio e junho de 2020, contemplando artigos publicados entre 2011 e 2020. As análises foram desdobradas em duas etapas: análise bibliométrica e análise qualitativa. Identificou-se que, embora o ingresso de estudantes com deficiência no Ensino Superior venha crescendo anualmente, ainda há um longo percurso a ser trilhado para a construção de Instituições de Ensino Superior (IES) inclusivas. Constatou-se, igualmente, a presença não só de barreiras físicas, mas também de barreiras relacionadas à formação de professores para o trabalho com os estudantes com deficiências, à elaboração de materiais didáticos, à oferta de tecnologias assistivas, à criação de núcleos de atendimento especializado e ao desenvolvimento de políticas de inclusão educacional específicas para cada IES.
