Paulo Freire and his influence on the constitution of an EJA course

Resumo: This article presents some results of a research that sought to investigate the influence of Paulo Freire in the constitution and development of a substitute course, aimed at young, adult and elderly students, in the 2nd segment of Elementary School, in the Municipal Public Education Network of Betim, in the state of Minas Gerais. The main source for this constitution are the interviews carried out with nine subjects, including teachers and pedagogues, using the methodology of Oral History. For the analysis undertaken, excerpts referring to the substitute course were highlighted, with the intention of developing understandings about its implementation and organization. Although the course has been implemented in an experimental way in only a few schools, the employees' narratives demonstrate a desire and an attempt to rethink the administrative organization of the Youth and Adult Education modality, highlighting the importance of Paulo Freire in this process. In addition, the methodology of work projects was mentioned as the main pedagogical practice of teaching aimed at young people, adults and the elderly in that period.

In addition, the methodology of work projects was mentioned as the main pedagogical practice of teaching aimed at young people, adults and the elderly in that period.Este artigo apresenta alguns resultados de uma pesquisa que buscou investigar a influência de Paulo Freire na constituição e desenvolvimento de um curso de suplência, direcionado a estudantes jovens, adultos e idosos, no 2° segmento do Ensino Fundamental, na Rede Pública Municipal de Educação de Betim, no estado de Minas Gerais. A fonte principal para essa constituição são as entrevistas realizadas com nove sujeitos, entre professores e pedagogos, com o uso da metodologia da História Oral. Para a análise empreendida, destacou-se excertos referentes ao curso de suplência, com a intenção de elaborar compreensões sobre a sua implantação e organização. Embora o curso tenha sido implementado de forma experimental em apenas algumas escolas, as narrativas dos colaboradores demonstram um desejo e uma tentativa de se repensar a organização administrativa da modalidade Educação de Pessoas Jovens e Adultas, destacando a importância de Paulo Freire nesse processo.
