Resumo: The violence, in its most variable types of expression, is considered harmful to the human development. The resilience, another object of study in the present research, in other hand, may represent a protective factor, minimizing the consequences of adverse situations. The objective of this study was to analyze the relation between school violence and resilience in teenagers. A quantitative method was employed in this study. A sample of 100 students from public and private schools answered the Resilience Scale and the School Violence Scale. The data was analyzed through the statistical software JASP and was performed the T Student test to compare the scores between groups and also the Pearson's correlation. The groups were divided by school (public or private) and gender. The teenagers from the male gender see themselves in a most significant way as victims of violence inflicted by other students. As the resilience, the results were not different between genders. The public school presented a greater global violence perception than the private school, it also stood out in the perception of the author of violence and of the victimization of students by the school staff. That was not found significant correlation between school violence and resilience, but was found a positive correlation between the subscales of school violence. Although the students from the public school presenting a greater violence perception than the other group, the development and maintenance of a tendency to resilience seems were not affected, this amplifies the possibilities of interventions.
