Cinema and research in education: about the art of collecting and narrating

Resumo: This paper discusses possibilities of articulation between cinematographic narratives and methodological constructions in educational research. Based on the work of Alfred Hitchcock, Abbas Kiarostami and Agnès Varda, we consider the researcher’s ethical and aesthetic attitudes, focusing on the recording and analysis of daily scenes related to school practices. With theoretical support of Walter Benjamin, Michel Foucault, Jeanne Marie Gagnebin and Alain Badiou, we defend the need for the complexity of the researcher’s gaze, careful with his task of collecting images and enunciations, to be treated poetically and philosophically through writing. We bet on incomplete and incomplete movements, as potentializers of investigative practices in education.
