Discovering yourself black: a narrative about Structural Racism

Resumo: We present the problematic of the construction of black identity from the life story constructed by orality. The objective was to analyze the process of construction of black identity through the narrative of a black person and demonstrate the potential of the life story narrative as an instrument for reinterpreting certain facts. This is a descriptive-analytical study of a single case study. Data analysis followed Minayo's Content Analysis proposal. We conclude that the narrative of the life story can be an instrument of resignification of past facts, contributing to the organization of lived experiences marked by racism and racial prejudice.

O objetivo foi analisar o processo da construção da identidade negra através da narrativa de uma pessoa negra e demonstrar a potencialidade da narrativa de história de vida enquanto instrumento de ressignificação de determinados fatos. Trata-se de uma pesquisa descritivo-analítica de estudo de caso único. A análise dos dados seguiu a proposta da Análise de Conteúdo de Minayo.
