The discourse on meritocracy applied to public policies on racial equality

Resumo: Given the differences in opportunities and conditions for people to develop their talents and skills, Brazilian society lives with a great dilemma when it migrates from the field of ideas to the field of action in defense of the principle of meritocracy. In this article, we explore qualitative studies on the implementation of policies to promote racial equality to discuss the idea of meritocracy in Brazil. The result is there is no recognition of historical and social variables as obstacles to achieving substantive equality, as well as the recognition of public policies as a social and economic lever.

Neste artigo, exploramos estudos qualitativos sobre as implementação de políticas de promoção da igualdade racial para discutir a ideia de meritocracia no Brasil.
