Expanded Dentistry Clinic: Precursor experience evaluated by users

Resumo: Objective: analyze the oral health care provided by Extended Clinic (EC) at the State University of Maringá and evaluate satisfaction with dental care and patient autonomy under the perception of users.Material and Methods: This is a crosssectional, retrospective study, with users who attended the dental service of EC. A structured questionnaire was applied on socioeconomic variables, humanization, autonomy, access, referral and satisfaction about dental care in EC. Descriptive data were analyzed using the EpiInfo Program.Results: The main reason for seeking EC was pain (37.8%), being chosen mainly for the free service (43.4%). All patients mentioned that the dentists listened carefully, had a good relationship and trust in their work. Most patients changed their behavior regarding healthy habits to their health, increasing autonomy and their responsibility with maintaining oral health. Most patients have satisfactorily evaluated EC in terms of human resources, structure and cleanliness. All of them rated dental care as very good / good, considering that the dentist did a good job and would recommend EC.Conclusion: It is concluded that this pioneering experience is being positive, qualifying dental care in relation to humanization, increasing patient autonomy and user satisfaction with the service provided.

Trata-se de estudo observacional, transversal, descritivo, retrospectivo, com usuários que frequentaram o serviço odontológico da CA. Foi aplicado questionário estruturado sobre variáveis socioeconômicas, humanização, autonomia, acesso, encaminhamento e satisfação sobre atenção odontológica da CA. Os dados descritivos foram analisados no Programa EpiInfo. O principal motivo de procura da CA foi dor (37,8%), sendo escolhida principalmente pela gratuidade do atendimento (43,4%). Todos pacientes citaram que os dentistas os escutaram com atenção, tiveram um bom relacionamento e confiança no seu trabalho. A maioria dos pacientes mudou seu comportamento sobre hábitos saudáveis em relação à sua saúde, aumentando autonomia e sua responsabilização com manutenção da saúde bucal. A maioria dos pacientes avaliou satisfatoriamente a CA em relação aos recursos humanos, estrutura e limpeza. Todos avaliaram o atendimento odontológico como muito bom/bom, sendo que acharam que o dentista fez bom trabalho e recomendariam a CA.
